Saw a Nighthawk Global Response Pistol (GRP) at my LGS just prior to my knee surgery. I'm sure they can be had for cheaper than $3,900, but wow, what a sharp weapon : )

well, it's a Nighthawk, so probably no steep discounts on that one! But yes, I'm a big fan of that kind of finish, and they managed to get a sort of semi-holster wear kind of look, at least from the images I've seen. I also very much like the 'minimalist' straight-up 1911 aspect o the gun...although I don't quite get why anyone would even consider $3,900 to be consistent with what sounds like a gun being marketed as a 'combat' weapon. But no argument, she sure is pretty.
Absolutely, I guess I just need a J.O.B. that would allow for such a beautifully refined weapon : )
So, I don't mean this as a dig at Nighthawk, or any of the other production custom guns.
But, given the advent of affordable CNC and corresponding reduction in manual labor to produce a gun with these tolerances, I have to wonder what their margin is on this gun. It's gotta be generous.
It is beautiful. And if I got one for a birthday present I would say thanks, shed a tear and head to the range. But I would not ever spend this kinda money on a gun.
Nope, not when I could get 2 or 3 really nice ones for the same price
