Came across this used Springfield TRP Operator in 10MM my favorite caliber. This one was different as it was displayed in the case with 5 magazines and all the paperwork/work order from Nighthawk.

I decided to test it with 5 different brands of 10MM magazines and different 10MM ammo. I even put some of my own 10MM SWC Revolver only 10MM reloads through it. I call them revolver only loads because I have never seen a 10MM Semi Auto be able to feed them.

With some Buffalo Bore 220gr and other manufacturers thrown in

Appreciate you ramjet. I am looking to have someone make like a reloading bench for me steel that is mobile yet heavy enough.

In this series of videos, I will be testing the accuracy of 1911 from 25 yards away using a Ransom Rest. I will fire 6 shots using my own handloads 165gr FP 10MM. For the actual test

Listen, there is no doubt I am in the fan club of the 10MM. Frankly, I love the versatility of the cartridge, but please don't tell 44Magnum that. As a seasoned reloader with 35 years of experience, with the right components, I can load this cartridge to meet any of my needs. If you came to read this article looking for the proverbial bear story, you have the wrong place, but stick around, and you might still get great and useful information.

Even with my love for 10MM, there is another interesting cartridge that has caught my attention here lately, the 450SMC. Yes, I am very familiar with the 45 Super and have shot a lot of it and even reviewed it here on this blog before. I promise the 45Super and 450SMC, though similar, are not the same cartridge, and that fact is what we are here to cover today. While also comparing it to my favorite, the 10MM.

Thank you I know how much hard work this is and was.

Looks that way.

I will tell you I got all excited when noticed the box on the shelf. Marketing for Winchester deserves 80% of the revenue from this round LOL. Not hating just saying because there was another guy there who had just bought a FN10MM and he bout 5 Boxes of this stuff.

OOOOOh speaking of barrel length maybe I can get my buddies 10MM Vector and test the rest of the rounds. I think there is 8 more rounds in that box.

Yeah it was 30 bucks a box at my local shop.

Here is the video to go along with it.

No powder spill some brass tighter than others there for I used more hand pressure to seat them fully. I usually prime on press but for this test I wanted to hand prime.

460 Rowland was made to compete with the 44Mag I think that is a fair comparison.

45 SUPER VS 10MM CONCLUSION
I could not leave well enough alone, I have been on a journey with 45Super for a number of years now and it?s all Brett?s fault. Though I have known of 45Super since the inception by Dean Grennell, with assistance from Tom Ferguson and Ace Hindman. It just never received much attention from me because I am a 10MM fan, I mean go figure growing up in South Florida during the Miami Vice Days. Then Brett introduced me to the Springfield V16 and then things got heated.

PUSHING 45SUPER AND 10MM TO THE BRINK OF FAILURE
All of this lead to, if 45Super and 10MM see?s this type of performance. What are they capable of out of a 16inch Carbine. As you can tell it took me a while to find someone  who had the right testing carbines. For the 45Super The M1 Thompson, and the Kriss Vector Gen2 for 10MM. We will be using the exact same lot number of ammo as we used in previous tests.

The 45Super out of the Thompson picked up a tremendous amount of velocity of 466fps. The 10MM on the other hand did not benefit as much from the longer barrel only picking up on average 87fps. The gel test told about the same story except in one category, from previous testing with the 45Super achieving greater penetration at 17in and the 10MM at 15in. The freedom pills themselves told a totally different story almost disintegrating, with the massive energy dump the wound track in the gel was huge.
