A three pound hunk of fugly in 10mm?  Mehhhh...could be!

Ugly and bulky, yes, but just think of it as a cheap hot load tester...and I might buy one just for that reason
It is claimed that it can handle hot loads, but i'd use a ransom rest and string :D

It will be interesting to see just how well it works and handles heavy 10mm loadings...

I'd like to know how the spent casings will turn out. And if anything this pistol would be good for load testing/chrono. Less costly than a damaged 1006, DE, etc.

Looks as though Hi Point will finally enter the 10mm pistol market with the JXP 10. It's bulky but it can handle some hotter loads. It comes with a threaded barrel, and it uses the same mags as the carbine (i wish they would make some mags that hold more than just a measly 10 rds for use in the carbine). I might just get one for the hell of it.

Yep, still trying to track down a pound of Blue Dot...but this winter storm is not going to make any powder hunting trips happen for at least a few more days!

Location?? I see Blue Dot at gun shows in Missouri and Illinois

Gear/Equipment / Holsters for the XDm Elite 3.8
September 19 2022 04:34:15 PM MDT
My assorted carry holsters for the XDm....
The leather thumb-break is what i carried the Glock 29 in. It's a De Santis 001E8, which is made for Glocks, but the XDm is so close in size to the 29 that it fits this holster. It was tight at first but has loosened up in time. The button snaps in place and the fit is snug. Not a bad choice if a XDm specific thumb-break is not available.

I love the Black Scorpion for IWB (usually worn at 2 or 4 oclock position). It's very light and comfortable.

The Kenai chest holster is by far my favorite for woods carry. Been carrying the G40 and the S&W 610-2 with it for years...bought another shell for the XDm.

Reality is, no one needs facebook to begin with.

And if you have a facebook, you should stop using it.

Nothing good is going to come from it.

Seriously.

You're only giving them your own words to twist around and use against you.  Even if it's perfectly innocent right now.  There may be a time when it's not.

I'm going to give you a perfect example.

Back in 2008, I was hurt at work, which caused me have to claim my workers comp.  I did not have a facebook account prior or since, but the workers comp lawyer was livid that he couldn't access my facebook account.  Because his whole defense was to use my pictures or words against me in any way possible.

100% agree. Not only does FB push a certain political agenda while censoring another,  but any (useless or not) information, gossip, opinion, or pics that are posted on FB will never go away. Those posts are theirs to keep....and they make a lot of money selling that info...and it will eventually be passed on at no cost to big brother.

Your story reminds me of another example... a few years back someone had walked in front of the vehicle that i was driving while at work. He was at fault but tried to sue the employer anyway. At the deposition his lawyer, who was obviously ticked off that I don't use FB, made the snide comment "you don't have a Facebook account, do ya?"...as if that would put me in the wrong. I mentioned to him that a FB account is not a job requirement, so no I don't.
I'm guessing that he was fantasizing and hoping that i might have taken and shared pics of the scene, or had made comments such as "i saw some dude walk into the roadway so i mashed the pedal and steered hard to the right to clip him...it was fun"
Apparently some clown lawyers are highly suspicious of a person who does not have a FB account.
Employers, potential employers, insurance companies, police, etc., will all snoop on FB accounts. One of my coworkers will look for dirt on the FB account of anyone he has an issue with. That's a double edged sword that will some day bite him in the ***.
I can only shake my head at the family members and friends who are way too obsessed with FB.

Very nice package deal. I got the promotional email from Springfield...think I'm going to call the dealer on Monday and order one.
I'm very happy with the 3.8. The longer barrel XDm will be even sweeter

Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: mild loads for 610 revolver
July 13 2022 08:04:03 PM MDT
Maybe you have done this already, but you can have her try some cheap 40 S&W boxed range ammo before loading mild 10mm.
I have shot 40 out of a 4" 610-2. It's easy to shoot plinking ammo. Just like shooting 38 Special out of a heavy N frame.

Like OP, I'd use 'whatever's laying around'. One product that I tried, and will use from now on, is cam break in lube.
Solid roller cams and the high spring tensions will put more pressure/friction between metals than any gun slide ever will. It doesn't take much of this stuff to lube a typical handgun slide, and it won't show like white grease does.
CompCams Moly Lube is what came with the camshafts so that's what goes on the slides

The sleepy drooling idiot is being paraded around and used by the puppet string pullers.....just as they use their well funded activist 'attorneys'.
We all know what their ultimate goal is.
Keep on stackin'

Finally got to take mine out and good god it was bad. That magwell needs to go. Phew I think my pinkie is still a bit numb after some 180s at 1200. Ate all my ammo without a single complaint, but I didn't give it too many. After a couple mags with its god awful ergonomics my hand said that was enough.

I need to look mine over good. Shot my 4.5" and was consistently nailing bulls eyes at 15 yards. When I pulled out the 3.8" I could barely get it on a 8" target at 10 yards without a boat load of kentucky windage. Sights are nicely centered but no matter how careful I was to be cognizant of all the typical accuracy rules for pistol shooting if I placed the sight on the bull, it would hit about 5" left and 5-6" low. Oof.

Will take the god awful magwell off, slap some 15 rounders with the sleeve in it and see if it was just me not being able to get a comfortable non-punishing grip on it.

All things considered a good day off work, sent some 9mm down with the Sphinx, that thing is still dialed. Sent some subsonic really low power rounds out the ruger wrangler, and Of course laid down some 10mm with my 4.5 xdm and the 3.8. Just wish I had likes the 3.8 more than I do after its first outing. Still looking for an MP 10mm round here.
I agree on that magwell.  It should come in the box as an accessory that will never get used.. like that cable lock.
I had time to put a few rounds of Sig round nose ammo through mine. It handled very nicely, and not much kick at all...of course those Sig rounds are not very stout. Once I got the sight alignment dialed in even the 20 yd. shots were impressive. Credit goes to the XD...I need more range time.
