10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: 10mm Frankenglock?

P80 frames are nice.  I have a Gen3 SF frame that's a little big for me, so I went with P80 and it feels great in my hands.  I'm going to do another 10mm since I have a spare SF frame.

Two is one, and one is none.

Not sure why you didn't start a new thread instead of resurrecting a 3 YO thread.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: 10mm Suppressors

I can always tell when people who never owned NFA make comments like how difficult it is to submit a form 1/4.  There isn't anything complicated about owning NFA items....it's just the crazy wait time currently to get your stamp from the ATF.

I wouldn't hold your breathe on HPA.  It seems logical, but what I've notice is that the government isn't very logical when it comes to "common sense" gun laws.

If you want a suppressor get one or five, I just wouldn't hold out for HPA.

Even if you don't load subsonic loads...suppressors have other advantages other than sound.  You get reduced flash and it will also reduce recoil as well.  People just think suppressors are for sound and that's just not the case.  Any suppressor for a 45ACP will work on a 10mm.

I ordered the bulge buster kit...I found the answer after I posted this thread.  I remembered reading it last year, but forgot about it until today.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: Pass-Thru Sizing using LEE FCD

Just ordered the Lee Bulge Buster as I started to prep my 10mm brass for reloading.

I'm a fan of this forum for all the knowledgeable folks that post on here.

After I deprimed, I took the deprimed case and put it in the Storm Lake 10mm barrel and the case fits in the chamber.  I was concerned since the bottom of the case was a larger diameter than top of the case.  I know with rifles this could cause an issue with chamber(IE needing to use small base dies).

I'll be using Long Shot as my powder and CCI 300 primers.

Greetings everyone,

I've always loaded for my rifles, but this is my first time reloading for pistol, so I could use some advice.

I am using Lee carbide 40/10mm dies.  I noticed that when I deprimed my once fired brass that the 10mm case was thicker at the bottom of the brass casing.  How do I ensure that the entire case length is the same diameter?

I saw a youtube vid where the guy had a resizing die from Redding.  Must I use it in order to make sure the case is the same the entire length?

I have 1k of virgin Starline brass as well, but I wanted to load develop with my once fired brass before I start using the virgin brass.

I live about 30 minutes from Lehigh.  They gave me a tour of their facility a few years ago.  I got a lot of bullets for free during the tour.  Very good company for information.

I've only loaded subsonic 300BO ammo and their bullets work great on PA Whitetail.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Glock G30 to 10MM?

Good score.

I have someone local who has a G20 and G40 with RMR that we are working on trades for some of my firearms that I'm not using.

For someone that doesn't like Glock, I may end up with three  Glocks in 10mm.

A LGS had a used G29SF...I passed on it and am kicking myself because it was a great price and didn't look like it was fired much.

Guy on the other side of PA has a used G29SF for sale...I figured once I factor in shipping and transfer fees...I might as well get one at Cabelas as they also have a used G29SF.

I was looking at getting an aftermarket barrel to avoid any smiley issues and to give me better velocities with a 4.6" barrel.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Glock G30 to 10MM?
August 15 2016 10:55:29 AM MDT
First off, let me start by saying I'm not a Glock fan at all, but they are the easiest to get into 10mm.  I already have a G21 that I converted to 10mm, so this would be another Glock I may consider buying.

There is a LGS that has a pre owned G30 with NS for $425.  I am considering buying it and swapping out barrels to make it a 10mm.  I really wanted to find a Gen 2 G29SF, but I'm not finding any locally.

Can anyone tell me what differences in the G30C...I heard that the slide is slimmer.  What frame do the G30s use?

I'm assuming it's just a barrel/mag/recoil spring swap and possibly extractor?

Any issues with conversion...LGS guy kept on insisting you cannot do the G30 to 10mm conversion, which is know has been done by some folks.

Also, any issues with say using the 4.6" G20 barrel from say Storm Lake in the smaller G30?  I've seen some pics of folks using a longer barrel, but I wanted to make sure.

Some very knowledgeable folks on this forum that I have a lot of respect.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: What's your go to bullet?

I read that the HP Xtremes can go to 1500fps...of course it's no longer 10% off, but at least I know now that those bullets are GTG.

Anyone using the Xtreme 165/180gr HP?  I haven't loaded for 10mm, yet but wanted to see if these bullets work well.

I've sent a few thousand of them down range. Several calibers, including .40SW and 10mm. Good bullets. The HP's (Hollow Point and Heavy Plate) hold up to ridiculous velocities, when Berry's and Rainier shed plating. Their 200 and 230 gr. .45 bullets are a workhorse, for developing ludicrous .460R velocities.

I reside in PA.

My next pig hunt I'll either use my NV with suppressor or I'm going to try to hunt them from a helo.
