Maybe I just have a great gun:

This was shot at 15yds. hand held, 3 shot grp. indoor range with commercial 180gr. HP Prvi:

What did you shoot that with? Does it have stock sights?

Range reports / Para LS Elite Range Report
February 15 2016 11:16:16 AM MST
Started to reload for my Para LS Elite.  I went with the Hornady 180gr. XTP and a RNFP 200 gr. hard cast bullet.  I was surprised at the results.  As to powder I went with WC820 (AA9).  They both shot very well, but the hardcast bullet shot best.  These targets were shot at 25 yds.  Remember these are initial findings:

This is the best group with 200r. hardcast:

This is the best group I could get with the 180gr. XTP:

I plan to work on these reloads with other powders and maybe bullets.

Here is the gun:

10mm semi-auto handguns / Para Elite LS Hunter

Checked and didn't see any Para EliteLS Hunter:

I am finishing up breaking this gun in.  I like to shoot about 500 rounds though a new gun before I considerate it street ready.  I will be using it for the woods and hunting.  I'm working on loads for that purpose.  I want to load XTP jacketed bullets for hunting and hard cast lead for practice.  I have 200 gr. hard cast lead bullets now and will be setting up loads.  Been asking around on that matter and getting good info.

Anyone out there have any experiences with this type gun?

Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: Want to load Lead bullets!!
August 30 2015 02:27:54 PM MDT
Hey Shadow, thanks for the info.  That is what I am looking for in lead bullet rounds.  Lead is cheaper to shoot and I like to try and match the POA/POI between the lead practice and jacketed hunting round.  This will help me work to that end.  I usually use
the AA#9 data, but back it off and work my way up.  It has worked so far and works fine.  I still have an 8# and a half jug so I like using it for my hand canon guns.

Hey Gandog, I would love to try these coated lead bullets, but that would mean I would have to do the coating.  I don't do this or does any of my buddies.  I would be totally lost in this process!!!  Thanks anyway pal.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Want to load Lead bullets!!
August 29 2015 10:57:49 AM MDT
I more then likely will go with an XTP style bullet for hunting, but want to load some lead bullets for practice.  I have found a box of 500 200 gr. hard cast FP bullets and want to load these.  I will end up mimicking the POA and POI to the hunting round.  Any suggestions on powder?  I do have WC 820, which has the same characteristics of AA#9.  I also have different pistol powders, 231, titegroup...

I have a Para Elite LS Hunter.

Any help or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I will be reloading for my new Para Elite LS Hunter.  this will be a hunting handgun.  So I'll be looking for loading some heavy loads for it.  I have some powder on hand, 231, WC820, titegroup, IMR4227 and IMR4198.  I will also be loading 180 and 200 gr bullets.

Any help would be grateful.  Thanks

Rafsob, Maybe you can take a picture of the WC820 and post it here, I use the scale pan because those little beads will run away on a sheet of paper...  ;)

Here it is:

It appears like the stuff that you have.  I've been using this stuff for all my hand cannons, 45 LC, 44 Mag. 357 Mag. and 22 Hornet.

I've been using the AA #9 data all along.  It has served me well during this time.  When I got this powder from the supplier, he said to use this data.

I will be loading for my Para Elite LS Hunter:

Now the fun part is to load up my test rounds.  I always start by down loading them 10% and go from there.  I'm the kind of guy that doesn't see going to the outer limits with my guns.  No sense over loading the frames.

thanks Shadow for the help.  I'll remember that!!!    ;)

This sample from my container of AA#9 (1980) doesn't have any flatten ball flakes in the mix, only microbeads.  Which is why I think that it was probably 100% WC820  (it wouldn't deliver the velocities of the newer formulations)...
I could load a max load (12.5 grains under the 200XTP) and it wouldn't compress enough and the bullets nose would deform trying to do so!  The bullets would actually be pushed up from the seated depth.

This is what my surplus WC820 looks like.  I would rather use one of the newer powders, but as everyone knows powder is kind of hard to find.  We got some of the new CFE powder in but it was the 223 stuff, not pistol!!!  I was surprised to see Unique on the self that other day when a shipment came in.  thought they were going to discontinue that powder?  Guess not.  I use that powder quite a bit.

I managed to find some FMJ plated 180 bullets in a small LGS the other day.  Ordered and received my Starline brass and will be sitting down to knock out a bunch of rounds in this cold weather.  Nice weather for reloading in the comfort of my reload room.  I also found a box of XTP 180 gr. bullets for hunting rounds.  Now those I will work up for accuracy.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Anyone Loading WC820 for the 10mm???
January 29 2015 07:34:00 AM MST
I have used WC820 for my hunting rounds in my 44 mag. and have always used the loading data for AA #9.  I am just getting into the 10mm business.  I recently bought a Para Elite LS Hunter and will pick it up this afternoon.

I have the CZ97BD, night sights.  It is one VERY accurate pistol and a tank.

I went to the CZ site and they don't have a 10mm there in the 97BD pistol.  Is this a special order?  I know this is an old thread, so hope I get and answer.
