Underwood Leghigh "Extreme Penetrators" are the best medium, medium-large game loads for the caliber, bar none!

You can take that to the bank!

Be advised that the .30 Carbine is a "Light Rifle" cartridge. It is commercially loaded to perform in gas-operated, carbine-length (18") barrels You are going to sacrifice velocity and be subject to pronounced muzzle blast from the pistol. That said, I love the .30 Carbine in its original home.

Good luck with your purchase

Thanks, Ken. I'll be staying at the Aqua Rio Hotel on Avenida Constitucion (between 9th and 10th Avenue) one block west of Avenida Revolucion. (Look it up on Booking.com). It is in the Zona Centro a few blocks from the Hotel Caesar (Home of the world-famous Caesar Salad).

Since I don't drink, smoke, or use substances that are detrimental to my health, I get to buy fireworks and blow them off at the beach. I also tend to visit museums and have all sorts of legal fun. That said, US Customs is a breeze and the exercise does my old body good.

I'll be leaving on January 8th. (I hope that there will be plenty of shrimp and fish). I am also looking forward to some of the best Chinese food in Baja California Norte.

go ahead, hurt our eyes

True story:

While I don't have a photo, on the day of her wedding, the woman stood 4' 11.5" and weight 385 lbs. This is why I always crack the joke that her husband carried her over the threshold on their wedding night... he made two trips.

a 10mm carbine would be great. especially if it took common pistol magazines (Glock, XD etc...))

It has to be in 10mm Magnum to be worth advancing the project. I say this because you want the power of a 10mm Auto Carbine round at 100 yards to dump anything short of an Elk on it's @$$. (I'm referring to brush-hunting in Western Oregon/Washington where shots are no further than 125 yards). The extra power of a 10mm Magnum launched from an 18-inch barrel will have it stepping out at 1800 fps, and 1500 fps by the time it reaches its 100-yard objective. That's still churning out 899.5 fpe.

Think about it.

Tony Rumore said his was a "One and ONLY One" that he custom-built for his father (that one was actually 10mm Mag IIRC). Well over a decade has gone by and he has not made another and he says he never will.
I've looked high and low for a gunsmith who is willing to take it on, and I've had no luck! But I keep trying...

Too bad. A 10-round 10mm Magnum with an 18" barrel would be an excellent "woods walking" carbine. Taking deer, black bear, hogs and anything lighter than elk at "the drop of a hat".

What a concept.

Actually, no, but his girlfriend loves them!
That was a salacious thing to say. Please refrain from making these remarks.

Thank you.

Consider what could be accomplished if someone would revive the 10mm Magnum Cartridge based upon the M1 Carbine platform. Light, sufficiently powerful and could potentially be a "jumping off" point for the 9mm x 31mm Cartridge.

This idea could be something to "kick around".

10mm revolvers / Re: 10mm Auto Rim anyone???
December 06 2019 08:42:20 PM MST
If HKS speedloaders were made for the 10mm Auto RIm it may prove useful in the woods. A pouch used to carry .41 Magnum HKS speedloaders would function quite well. Then again, pouches used to hold 10mm cartridges in moon clips would allow you to carry between 18-24 cartridges for immediate use in a "combat" situation.

Either way, it would work rather well. (Six of one, a half-dozen of the other).

Welcome Jason, the UW 135gr makes me grin huge every time I shoot them, hence the reason I ordered more today. This is a fun rd to pull out for folks that have never shot a 10 before. Another UW product you may want to test for carry is their bonded 165gr Gold Dot. These are moving at aprx 1400 fps / 718 ft lbs, and have proven themselves to be very accurate from my RIA Ultra FS HC
Thanks

Ken

Ken, That 165-grain Gold Dot from Underwood sounds as if someone opened an "economy-sized" can of "whip-@$$".

I like it.

"Porch Pirates". (He wrapped his garbage in an old Amazon delivery box and left it where it could be easily "carted off").

Problem solved.  :)) :D :P

Off topic area / I was in High School and...

I had been chatting with my Social Studies teacher. A poorly read classmate ran into the room and told my teacher that he needed a sentence with the word "officiate" in it. The teacher thought for a moment and said, "A friend of mine became sick because "officiate."

There's something that wasn't quite right with him, was there?
