Just want to wake up the thread.
I picked up a 220sse last year. Easily my softest shooting 10mm.
I had to switch the grips out for a set like yours as the rosewood grips were slicker than salmon.
Trigger took a few hundred rounds to break in, but it's very nice, now. I do wish the pre travel was about half of what it is.. just don't feel like spending the money on a GG trigger or something of the like.
Curious if you've had any issue with the rear sight coming loose?
Mine came loose the first time out, and I discovered Sig only has a single set screw to anchor it. I cleaned and re-loctited it, but after speaking with another guy with a similar issue on the Sig forum, I think I'm going to drill and tap a second hole to help secure the sight.
It does not need a second screw. My rear sight adjustment was stripped in the gun shop. Sig sent me a new rear sight, and I used standard Blue Loctite, and it has not budged since. If mine ever does, I'll put Red Loctite on it.

From the factory, it has very little "Guntite" which is a weaker Blue the way I understand it. If you drill a new hole, Sig will not Warranty your sight.

TNOUTDOORS9 tested factory Hornady 180 XTP (before they turned up the power) at 1155 fps, and it penetrated 17". Then the Chopping Block tested the 180 XTP loaded to 1290 fps, and it penetrated 13.25".

Massad Ayoob told me, the .40 S&W has produced more "pass-throughs" than any other caliber he has used, or seen used in the line of duty. On another note, carrying "Super Hot" ammo from Underwood in my 10mm, will penetrate LESS than the same bullet in a .40. So I don't understand you saying we need to take his advice. Underwood's 124 +P+ Gold Dot penetrated close to the same as the Speer offering, but had larger permanent cavities.

Plus I can't stand Mr pork shooter.

One thing that the Pull-Down Documentations here have shown, is that we could work toward duplicating what we wish to try in our own guns to maybe train and test feed function and accuracy at maybe a lower cost as handloaders.  I have always stated that some of these BOUTIQUE ammos have a lot of hype to include their prices...when some cast bullets could do the job just as well...

To each their own as you test what actually works well for yourselves!
Remember to note, that my friend whom is a technician for Underwood, said they do not use off the shelf powders, and that similar looks is just a coincidence.

I really think that the group who carries a 10mm for self defense is a very, very small one.

No idea what the overall numbers are....  However, a bunch of people here carry them for self defense.
In my neck of the woods it's not rare to come across people carrying 10mm from time to time.
I carried my 29 exclusively for 3 years. As SQL said, weight, bahh ,who cares! I do, absolutely  love this P220, but the 4.4" P227 in 10mm would be a PERFECT SD pistol!

I'm actually talking to Heine sights now, about making us P220 guys a battle sight to replace the large, sharp, and cumbersome adjustable rear sights. They've been making then for 1911's for years! My 10mm has a night sight front, would be nice to have the rear as well. I'm thinking an optic plate style thing, with a rear sight screwed on through the bottom (like the M17). We will see, I've pitched my idea to three different manufacturers.

The Commander is the best looking and handling 1911. Then I'd take a RIA over a Kimber any day.

I would order one tomorrow if they had greater than 8 round capacity. With that little cap, I may as well get a 1911 long slide.

No sir, I honestly thought the capacity would bother me, until I got it. It really is an amazing piece. I've shot a 1006 and a Delta Elite, and to me, the Sig P220 is an improvement on both of them.

I don't have the Legion, and I won't, because Sig is really promoting "Brand Snobs" with that Legion Members only crap. It's the same gun I have now, with a "Legion Cerakote". My P220 Elite makes me very happy.

Do I wish Sig built the 10 on the 227 ? YES! But still, love this gun.

I want to see a M&P 10mm, they can call it the MP1006. I want a Sig P320 in 10mm. Gray Guns will be releasing one, but I want Sig to do it too. Part of me would like to shoot a HK USP in 10mm as well!

Definitely a nice improvement to the look!  8)
Thank you sir

I could not stand the thought of having to pile the screws everytime I handled it. Plus, flat blade screws just look cheap and dated. I ordered some Hogue Extreme Duty Screws. They have the cleaner looking Allen heads, and are made from 416 SS. Not a bad $11 upgrade.

I'll try to piston a picture, but this forum has some tight requirements and I can't meet the kb number without distortion.

Nice, I have a box of the GD's in my stash as well 😀

I meant to tell you, their inflated velocity claims are from an unusual 6" barrel. Kind of like Winchester Silvertips from a 5.5".

Took the RIA Ultra FS / HC 10 out again today and ran another 100 rd's of the Fenix 180gr FMJ. It's not the cheapest stuff, but at 1,375 FPS, they are for sure pushing the limits, not to mention it's some seriously fun stuff to shoot 😀

Just read they have a 4-6 week lead time for all new orders, like really : (

I just got an email about my birthday from Fenix. I have enough points for $25 off an order. Thinking about ordering some of their 180 Gold Dots.

will Smith & Wesson ever jump on the band wagon and make the M&P in 10mm? they were pioneers with the 10mm, their 1006 is still highly regarded. I have an M&P .40 S&W and it is one of the pistols that I shoot the best. I just wish it were a 10mm!
has anyone even heard of S&W making another 10mm pistol?
I would like one to go with my Sig P220. But I've heard rumors we will see a P320 in 10mm sooner than later.

I'm with you on your thoughts regarding Underwood 10mm ammo. For me shooting up 4 or 5 boxes of expensive ammo for reliability testing is not an issue, as it's critical you know it will function properly, as well as being accurate. Sure, no one wants to spend a ton on reliability testing, but at the same time, no one wants their weapon to have issues if a horrible situation were to ever go down.
I agree completely!  I like to know how much recoil my gun will have, where it will hit, and if it will even feed the ammo. I like Underwoods Range Supply for full power practice.
