Wildcats / Re: 9x25 dies

Can import if I have to, at least dies are not constrained by ITAR and there is no State export authority required for someone to send them to me. Cases however are, and there is zero availability of brass and factory ammo here, even 10 mm brass is extremely difficult to get.

Thanks for your advice, I always find the guys here very helpful, have put out the call for any secondhand Dillon dies locally, maybe some of the old IPSC here shooters may have a set lying around, if not, I know I can get away with 357Sig dies in the meantime, although I may lose some brass.

thanks for your advice, dillon 9x25 dies do not exist anywhere here in OZ, would have to import from the US to get some, wish our dollar was better, they are expensive. Has anyone changed the chamber by reaming with a 357 sig reamer, does this increase the depth of the chamber to much for there to be not enough neck on the case to hold the bullet?

Hi Guys, have organised to import a 9x25 barrel for my Glock 40, Dillon dies are difficult to get here in OZ, can I use Lee 357 Sig dies instead for the meantime? and if so, what is the best die for doing the crimp?,they only come as a 3 die set and I have a 4 hole turret, any suggestions welcome, thanks

Gear/Equipment / Re: Aftermarket Barrel Specs

the barrels I was  looking at were a Bar Sto and a KKM, hoping someone with one of these could let me know if they are marked

guess that means that most replacement barrels don't have an identifying number, just a logo and model etched onto them

Gear/Equipment / Aftermarket Barrel Specs

am hoping you guys can help me out with some specs on aftermarket Glock barrels, whether Lone Wolf, Bar Sto, KKM,etc. My state requires that all conversion barrels have their own unique identifying number like a serial number, just wondering if do have a replacement barrel, does it have a serial number or similar on it ? Thanks.

Gunsmithing / Re: Lone Wolf old vs new barrel

have been trying to import  an alpha wolf barrel but your ITAR regs make it hard, still trying, but have found a new Dasan made barrel in my country that I can get right away, just don't want the model with less case support, unfortunately can't see it so need some way to find out, thanks for the photo, was wondering whether or not those barrels were any better

Gunsmithing / Lone Wolf old vs new barrel
November 20 2017 06:11:06 PM MST
Looking to replace the barrel in my Glock 40 to gain better support in the chamber so my brass will last and be safer to shoot with the hotter loads. Have come across a 10 mm Lone Wolf (9") barrel that is old stock, have been told that the newer model barrel  had reduced case support compared to the older one, and that the newer one  is not that much better than the OEM, see photo. Question is , are there any obvious differences in these 2 models of barrel that you can ask someone over the phone, to work out which it is, say are the logos different or in a different place, remember I will be talking to some one who won't know that much nor have 2 barrels to compare, any help would be appreciated.

Gunsmithing / Re: 10mm Barrel to 40 s&w

so far have only shot 40 in the 10mm barrel, accuracy not great and JHP don't stabilize but otherwise functions flawlessly, a conversion barrel is classed as a separate firearm and has to be registered, only permitted one handgun on my licence, only real option is to modify a 10 mm barrel which I am permitted to get several of, hope that makes sense. Need something definitive that I  can take to a gunsmith and get him to do what I want. proof of it reliably being done would help my attempts to find someone willing to do it.

Gunsmithing / 10mm Barrel to 40 s&w
October 27 2017 06:02:34 PM MDT
just wondering if anyone knows whether or not a 10 mm Glock barrel, OEM or aftermarket, can have the chamber shortened by shrink installing a sleeve into the barrel which can then be reamed down to the correct headspacing depth to accept the 40 s&w round? basically just bringing the shoulder up the 2mm or so needed to match the 40 chamber.
As to why, just know that I live in Australia and our laws are silly

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Glock 40 Dissapointment
August 16 2017 01:09:27 PM MDT
It sounds like that early on they came with adjustable sights but now the standard sights are the ones. As the pistol is used for hunting, it would have been nice to have something adjustable as I wish to sight it in at around 40 yards, already noticing quite a large impact shift with different ammo. Have fitted a red dot, but because I where I live and hunt, I would like some good backup sights so if ever there is a problem, I can simply remove the red dot in the field and still be able to hunt. Any suggestions on what sights to get? nothing locally and will have to import from the US

10mm semi-auto handguns / Glock 40 Dissapointment
August 14 2017 10:06:56 PM MDT
I have just recently taken delivery of my new Glock 40, to my suprise and dissapointment, the most expensive pistol Glock sells came with the standard drift adjustable rear sight instead of their adjustable model. Just a question for all those Glock 40 owners out there, did yours come with the same sights? or as I believed due to all the reviews, photos and specs I seen, come with the adjustable rear sight that hangs back of the slide. If this was only an optional extra, then I would liked to have known beforehand as the time taken from completing the paperwork and delivery was close to 12 months.

Data for the 10 mm over here is pretty pathetic, it is only there because AP70 is Hodgdon Universal,      AP100 is slower and looks like a better option, being equal in burn rate with 800x and AA#7,  contacted forums here for help but sadly there is little  experience here as only a handful of people have 10mm.  I'm sure they could be pushed to make a reasonable loading with ADI Powders,  but as a first time reloader without all the gear, it would be nice to have someone more experienced provide some data and velocity on ADI Powder loads they have worked up.      Maybe one of you guys over there in the land of the 2nd Amendment would like to have a play with ADI powders, or run it through your computer program and see how it looks and send me some generated data,   quite a few of what you use over there is simply just re-branded ADI Powders anyway

thanks for making it clearer, looks like I might have made the right choice, not expecting to go above 165 gn bullets and will probably be sticking to 150/155 till the end of time.
