You are thinking about the 36 which is a single stack not the 30. The 30 is pretty much the same pistol as the 29 except the caliber and slight changes to the ejection port. I owned a 29 for a while and wish i would have bought a 30 instead because a 30/21 will run the 10mm, 40, and .357 sig with a mag and a barrel change as well as the .45. The 29/20 will run them all with just a simple barrel recoil spring change but will not run the .45 ACP with a mag and barrel  due to the smaller ejection port .
