The steel fixed sight version?  What do you have for magazines and what was the recoil setup before?
Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I don't check in very often.
Yes, it is the standard steel witness compact barrel & slide which has been ported. it lives on a full-size standard steel frame from a .45 acp. Witness. I have a compact mag or two, but never use them. I use the full-size 10mm mags. The recoil system was stock Witness Compact 10mm before I tinkered with it.

Just about all of them do fine in 10mm except maybe the short barrel version (3.6"). Now if you go from the Match on up they are absolutely stellar! I have a couple of Limiteds and a Hunter... 100% and a rip to shoot!

Just a comment that I have had a Witness Compact (3.6" bbl.) for about 20 years now and it has been quite satisfactory. I *have* recently added a DPM "Recoil Reducer" setup to it just to protect the slide and frame from battering with heavy loads.

It looks really cool! Nobody out there carries a single flat coil to fit this model? Has anyone looked into the DPM system for this?

I am using the DPM kit in my steel Witness (semi) Compact. It seems to be doing the job quite well.

It's the DA/SA trigger that I am after.  Sold and re bought all DA/SA guns and training with the new trigger type.  Don't want to mix and match.  I just don't understand why someone can't come out with a 10mm da/sa Glock alternative.  How many people that hunt would buy them?  I know I would own two.  Unbelievable!

Take a look at the EAA Witness (made by Tanfoglio in Italy). They have SA/DA triggers standard, though some models are SA only. They are all double-stack magazines (14+1 in 10mm), and they have steel frames unless you opt for plastic, they have both. Their DA/SA triggers allow carrying either cocked-and-locked or hammer-down on a live round -- but you have to be able to lower the hammer without dropping it, no big deal.
