10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: KKM barrel for Glock 29sf
October 14 2020 09:29:40 AM MDT
Well the 29  I have with several brands of 10mm leave behind 'glock smile'... bulges in the cases. Also while 3-4 inch groups at 20 yards is ok I would like better accuracy.

Hence the KKM barrel with rifling and, I hope, better supported barrel.

Ok. I ordered an original OEM Glock front 'night sight' (steel) AND the OEM adjustable rear sight. Will see in a week or so how it plays out.

Thanks.

10mm semi-auto handguns / KKM barrel for Glock 29sf

Are KKM barrels worth the effort? Do they actually give better accuracy? Any functioning problems?

Thanks for any input.

I picked up this Glock 29sf (good deal, like new gun, 3 mags, box of Focci 10mm 180gr FMJ, box and papers.. $600 flat!)

Now I went to the range. Gun shoots GREAT. 3 types of FMJ 180s, Magtech shot the best. 3 inch groups standing two handed at 20 yards.)

Handloads gave 155 gr XTP handload at under 3 inch groups using Unique powder.

Shoots just a bit high. Now... I'd like to find some steel adjustable sights. Click adjustable. This is my field gun to be not my fighting gun.

Any opinion on the best made ones that will hold up for a long time?

Thanks!

Found one in mint condition.. They want $1100, tax included.

How many of you have had experiences with the TRP 10mm?

Good, bad, ugly?

thanks!

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Glock 40 10mm Magnum

But... the pressure. Will the Glock, with the best supported barrel made, take 40,000 psi/cup?

" So far, I really like the G40 but I noticed it's a little nose heavy compared to my G20s."

cdrepine, yes mine feels a bit 'muzzle heavy' but I sure do like the fact it does not recoil badly at all.

I think 15 rounds of 200 grainers in the grip balances out the weight some.

"My Glock 20 Gen-4 would NOT reliably cycle Underwood 220 grain bullets without a spring change. I went to a 20lb spring from Lone Wolf and everything runs well with that, including mild loads like S&B 180 grain factory ammo. "

Muskrat, is the 20lb spring a Gen 3 spring set up to work on a Gen 4? And is 20lb heavier or lighter than standard weight?

I wish someone would make a Gen 4 stainless steel recoil spring set that was about 2 lb heavier than stock.. but I sure don't see one made.

Thanks.

Thanks.

"The weight of the slide dampens recoil."  Yes is sure does!

Now I usually hike with a Ruger Security Six .357 4 inch revolver and handloads that give the 158gr SPs at 1200 fps. Kind of hurts my hand after 30-40 rounds practice. The Glock 40 does not at all!! Full 10mm loads are just easy to shoot. 3 inch groups at 25 yards with just Miltech 10mm ammo (I plan on trying SIG 180gr JHP 10mm as I understand it is much more accurate.)

I'll get a NY-1 trigger and 3.5 connector and try. I use that setup in my carry Glock 26 as I like bit heavier trigger with no stacking at the end of the pull.

I just may leave the sights as-is... I was even tempted to fork over $$ for a Bar-Sto barrel and hard chrome finish but $1000 Glocks are not my cup of tea! I got this one at a pawn shop for $546, tax included.

And if I go back to Alaska again... the Glock 40 will be carried. Yes I have .44 magnums but full house loads are very hard to practice with and I'm a firm believer in practice!

Thanks again.

10mm semi-auto handguns / I just got a Glock 40 MOS

And wonder if....

A) the NY-1 trigger spring and 3.5 connectors used in the Glock 17 work in the 40.
B) is there a heavier recoil spring set made for the 40?
C) Will the hard case 220 (Buffalo Bore), 230 (Double Tap) grain factory loads function reliably?
D) and if you were going for simple and strudy adjustable open sights what would you suggest (mine still has the Glock plastic sights.. adjustable but I'd prefer steel.)

Thanks!!

Not bad at all for a .40 S&W. And mine is a Glock 22, so ought to be a bit higher.

Outstanding 10mm from a short barrel. Makes it a true .357 Magnum.

Yes I like those velocities. Like 'em a lot.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Loads just for a Glock 29
August 19 2017 09:14:48 PM MDT
I'm looking for loads using Unique or Power Pistol just for the Glock 29 (I just got a slim frame 29) and I want to optimize the loads just for it's barrel length. I'm a handloader with decades of experience.

155 and 180s mostly in weight.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
