BillinOregon, did you ever go through with the Girsan?

My experience with the hunter was terrible.

I have now owned 2 DW VBOBS in 10. Still have 1. I find it incredibly enjoyable to shoot. No plans to sell it. Id really like to see someone make a shorter barreled version.

I have no plans to buy the Tisas (I'm a bit "gun-shy" with Turkish guns after my Girsan POS debacle), but I definitely am interested in how the YUKON shakes out.

Maybe, with the recent proliferation of DS 1911's, someone can make a Double Stack 3.5" 2011?

Anyhow, keep the info rolling on the YUKON.

I'm glad that Girsan has made at least 1 decent firearm.

Having looked at my GunBroker history, it seems that I've spent $18K on gun. Just from GB.

I WILL NEVER BUY A GIRSAN ANYTHING. NOR WILL I EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM EAA. AND PROBABLY NEVER ANOTHER TURKISH PRODUCT. THAT BRIDGE IS DONE BURNED!

I didn't wan t to sell it and pass it on to someone else.

I got lucky in realizing the my FFL got it from Davidsons and they gave my FFL a new replacement. My FFL gave me a refund.

Sorry, but I have NOT told y'all the final outcome.

After getting it back from *** (I refuse to speak their name), I had another terrible and innacurate range session. I  actually was starting to hate this gun and didn't want to waste any ammo on it.

I got to thinking and realized that my FFL had gotten the pos from Davidsons. I went down to talk to him. Farnes is a great guy. He agreed to contact them on my behalf. I left the gun witth him.
1 week later it was on its way back to Davidsons with a brand new one passing it like the proverbial "2 ships in the night". Davidsons stepped up.
But, Farnes was gentleman and offered me  the new 1 OR my money back.
I took the cash! I wanted nothing else to do with that  foo&$ng gi*&an.

I got lucky!

My DW 10mm onwned guns - RAZORBACK, older but nice VBOB, new VBOB, VALOR and just bought a SPECIALIST.

I'd love to add a KODIAK to my collection in the near future.

My SPECIALIST is great, but so is my VALOR.

To me, a 5" is a more rounded option. Good for everything. I can hit a 5" steel plate from a bench at an actual 85 yrds 9 times out of 10 with my VALOR. Have not done much with my SPECIALIST except to run 250 rnds of S&B through it for break in.

DW's can be hard to find. My dealer could not get any through his suppliers. I bought mine on Gun Broker. Best price, free 2 day shipping, responded fast to questions and had it on the way the same day as I paid.

BERRETAFAN, I had the same problem with my hunter FPS. I went back to my dealer because EAA insisted a FFL do the shipping. My dealer paid for it for me BOTH WAYS!
Mine has some serious slop in the frame/slide fit. After 115 rnds! I complained to EAA about its terrible lack of accuracy. Fell on deaf ears. At 15 yrds, it barely hits the bottom of a B27 target!
I really regret buying this Turkish Turd. 

i have reached emailed Girsan twice in the last month. NO RESPONSE.

My only option is to try to fix what I can. I may try to lower the front sight, shim up the rear, or buy new sights. The last option is really the last. I dont want to put another red cent into this turd that I wasted $700 on.
I have a pistol scope and mount that I may concentrate on dialing in.

Seems like I got the one made on Monday.

Got my "Hunter" back. Gotta say that I'm fairly unimpressed with EAA.
They replaced the firing pin and firing pin retaining plate.
The did nothing in regards to my complaint of its poor accuracy, or the excessive slop in the frame slide interface.

I feel like I wasted $700 in buying this POS.

I HIGHLY recommend staying away from Girsan's.
