Took the XDM-10 5.25 out on Saturday to plink at some paper with some 40S&W ammo I "inherited".  I started with some nuclear rounds I loaded up for my M610, then proceeded with a boxful of the gifted ammo, lead TC.  No issues whatsoever, and in fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the good group I got with the TC rounds offhand at 15yds.  In case you're clutching your pearls because I'm shooting 40S&W rounds in my 10mm, fear not.  The XDM-10 is a tank, and besides, I've got plenty of spare parts.  I finished up with good and hot proper 10mm reloads, and I had a pleasant outing.  I don't really like the XDM platform, and this one is particularly ugly, but it does what I ask it to do, plus...it's not a Gluck.

It will take some time before the economy settles after Mr. Trump's tariffs take hold.  Some primers are US made, but not so many powders, IIRC.  Not sure if this will help us shooting consumers.

Still, I 100% support the tariff plan; it WILL bring more manufacturing back to the US. Several companies have already pledged to do so!

I'm no fan of the 1911 in general, but I definitely shy away from the higher pressure cartridges in the 1911 platform.  It wasn't designed for the higher pressures, and my experience has been negative.  But I'm always interested in reading about new cartridges.  Never heard of the 450SMC, and I see Starline doesn't produce it at this time.  So let's see what you come up with, John A.

Me too for cast, or jacketed, or plated, or coated.

AA#9 is a great and safe powder for 10mm; it's hard to get an overcharge with it.  Of course  it's good practice to start low (or mid-range) and work up the load.

 Now, THAT'S too funny!

Hmmm, Gluck take-down, external safety, 15+1, no trigger dingus.  Alot of good and bad stuff in one package.  I'm holding off until you guys figure it out!
