Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: Pressure signs...

The_Shadow...you are correct in the powders used, both with the max load!  Pretty cool that the Speer manual used a S&W model 1006 as their test handgun, with me getting pretty close to the same results!

Speer #14
11.0gr. Blue Dot (max)
CCI 300
180gr. Hornady XTP

Hornady #9
14.9gr. ACC#9 (max)
CCI 300
180gr. Hornady XTP

I'm using a S&W Model 1006 with a 22lb. recoil spring.  There are no shiny ring, no bulge and both loads were max from the Speer #14 and Hornady #9.  My chronograph recorded from the Speer load average 1317 and the Hornady load average 1388...with a 180gr.

Is the brand of brass a critical part in maximum load pressure?  I am planning on using Starline nickel brass.  I am finding many different load data, but none with Starline brass.

If it is a 22 lb. spring I was thinking about putting a 24 lb. spring in my Ruger.  What are the pros and cons?
