I have killed deer and pigs with Hornady 180 gr XTP ammo. The 180 gr is all you need.  You do not have to shoot hard cast unless you just prefer them.

I use the 180 gr XTP on pigs. The 155 XTP will do the job.

You asked specially about the Glock 40. I have both the 40 and the 20 and if I had to pick, for protection, not hunting, I would and do carry the 20. I also have a number of 44 Mags and a 500.  I still carry the 20. 15 round mags...

The 10mm with either 180 or 200gr bulllets will take any black bear you come across.  I shot a 250lb pig at 85 yards with 180gr XTP. Complete pass thru.

I shot this pig at 80 yards with factory Hornady 180 gr XTP. Full pass thru. The pig was +/- 200 lbs.

I have a Delta Point on mine and regularly shoot an 8x10 plate at 115 yards.  It makes a huge difference. I shot this pig at about 80 yards. I don't think I could have made that shot with open sights. I probably wouldn't have even taken the shot.

That's a KKM.  It dramatically improved accuracy. I shot the pig at a friend's place in Central Texas outside of Waco.

This is my first post here. I shot this pig a couple of weeks back. Glock 40 MOS with Delta Point. Hornady 180 gr XTP.  Complete pass through at 80 yards.
