10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: LAR Grizzly in 10 mm Mag
March 25 2023 03:18:42 PM MDT
Yes, I have bought parts from the fellow in Texas.  My Grizz .45 Win Mag was patented by an old friend .  I  own these 1911 Grizz conversions .357 Remington, 10mm pistol.
No I have never used the 10MM in my 1911 Grizz. My collection of 10MM handguns numbers 15 .  I like them all the Colt Delta Elite is a big favorite. For heavy loads and hunting the SIG P220 is great.  I do use the 1911 Grizz .357 conv set and shoot 200 grs powder coated hard cast bullets.

A 10MM round loaded with a very high Brinnel slug that goes deep into Mr.  Grizz, may save your life?

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: Which 10mm to buy?
January 14 2023 05:41:41 AM MST
THE PISTOL ARGUMENT IS LIKE THE OLD "CHEVY OR FORD',  ETERNAL ARGUMENTS. I HAVE OWNED OVER 30 10MM HANDGUNS.  AS RECENTLY POSTED I CURRENTLY HAVE 20 10MM HANDGUNS.
THE 10MM IS A GREAT ROUND FOR LONG RANGE ACCURATE  DELIVERY OF POWER.  MANY PLATFORMS/HANDGUNS HAD TO GO THROUGH FAILURES.  THE COLT 1911 DELTA ELITE CRACKED FRAMES. THE KIMBER LINE SUFFERED FAILURES AND SO ON WITH MOST 10MM PISTOLS.  TODAY  ARMS COMPANIES  HAVE MANUFACTURED  DEPENDABLE 10MM FIREARMS.
THE SIG P220 IS A GREAT HANDGUN .  BUT IF YOU LIKE THE GLOCK,COLT, S&W, OR ANY OF THE IMPORTS YOUR CHOICE WILL BE THE BEST.

YES YOUR CHOICE OF HARD CAST 10MM 200 GR BULLETS IS CORRECT.   THE 10MM HAS BEEN USED WITH SUCCESS IN STOPPING THE BROWN BEARS. I HAVE 3 FRIENDS WHO HAVE SUFFERED GRIZZ ATTACKS.  THE LAST TWO WERE ATTACKED LAST MONTH.  ONLY ONE WAS ARMED HE HAD A GLOCK 10MM LOADED WITH 200 GRS HARD CAST SLUGS. THIS OCCURRED IN TWO SEPARATE ATTACKS.
FOR ANYONE TO ASSUME THAT THE 10MM CANNOT TURN AN ATTACKING BEAR MAY LIVE AN URBAN LIFE.  THE MULTI SHOT 10MM CAN PENETRATE DEEPLY INTO THE BEARS BRAIN.  FAST EXPANDING BULLETS  ARE NOT THE ANSWER IN STOPPING A GRIZZ.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: NEW: Hi Point 10mm pistol.
January 10 2023 12:19:10 PM MST
The Hi-Point firearms depend on "pot metal", castings.  I see the 10mm handguns will weigh in at 43 Ozs.  Anyone investing in these pistols should stay with low pressure loads.
Some time ago I picked up a Hi-Point carbine .40 S&W caliber.  I began loading the heavy rifle with light loads and working up. I was some what surprised when just over a Max load the bolt was blown out. The Hi-Point firearms are made from castings dependent on weight to fire rounds. I intend to get a Hi-Point 10mm and load until it blows out.. These are not dependable SIG or Colt firearms.
I have at this time 20@ 10mm handguns. I usually test and sell 5 of these after testing. This allows 5 new 10mm pistols each month. That is now when I can get any new handguns.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: 200gr. WNFP gas check & Longshot

I have been using Blue Dot for a number of years. blaster told me about Long Shot. His Info helped just in time. It is impossible to buy Blue Dot here. We can buy Long Shot any time at the local Gun Dealers. I have found Long Shot to be a a great powder for my 10mm hand guns.

Power Pistol works well with the 10mm.

Yes I agree.  It has taken 2 years for Power Pistol to get to Wyoming.  I just bought 2 bottles for $120 dollars. "ouch"!!
The Power Pistol is working out just fine.

The muzzle loading firearms should not be stored loaded. Primers and moisture  are the enemies of muzzle loaders.

Rifles / Re: New to me '03A3
December 05 2022 11:45:19 AM MST
These rifles Garands and Bolt operating mechanisms should remain in the SAMMI Safe Zone.  The SAMMI Safe Zone is 62,000 PSI on the bolt face.  I would recommend American Eagle ammo and careful reloads. Reloads with bullet weights of 150-173 bolt face pressure not to exceed 50,000 PSI.
I have had 2 Garands and a 1903A3 separate at 70,000 PSI Breech Face Pressures. Don't forget these rifles are not capable of modern ammo pressures.. These wonderful firearms often fall into 80-100 years of age. Good Luck.

Rifles / Re: Rugers new 5.7 carbine
December 05 2022 11:19:47 AM MST
The .22 TCM birthed from a .223 case is much better than the 5.7 round. The .22 TCM rifle is disgustingly in accurate. The 1911 pistols clambered in .22TCM is an amazing round.

I bought a .40 S&W Hi-Point carbine for under $ 300 bucks.  These little carbines are cussed but they work.  The sights are adjustable and the carbines never fail if loaded with proper ammo.  Being a curious reloaded I tested the HI-Point Carbine to see what it could handle.
I carefully reloaded the .40 S&W until I was well into the danger zone. The next level took the rifle into the 10MM loads. It began firing accurate 10mm reloads in the .40 S&W brass.  Just when I was very impressed the little Hi-Point failed violently .  Hi-Point sent me the replacement no charge.
The Hi-Point Carbine rest in the gun room and will only be fed correct ammo. Hi-Point has this Carbine in 10MM? I may push one of these to it's limits???

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: GIRSAN HUNTER FDE ON THE WAY
December 05 2022 10:45:20 AM MST
Biden has closed the most of the oil drilling on Public Lands.  Here in Wyoming many families are are out of work. I have bought 20 10MM pistols to help friends.  I have run out of funds for these and other calibers.
I have used my SIG 220 Elite Hunter and my SS Colt 1911 10MM for many years. I must admit my Colt 1911 Delta Elite 10MM remains my favorite.
An old friend was taken down 2 weeks ago by a Grizzly Bear. Larry managed to put 8 rounds of 10MM in the Bear. His Glock pistol did not fail him. During the Bear attack one round of 10MM hit Larry in the leg.  A chopper landed on lake and flew him the SLC 175 miles away.  The telephone saved him.
That same week an antler hunter who lives down the street was attacked  by a Grizz.  He has survived so far.  The 10MM with the right ammo has saved many Wyoming folks.

Reloading / Re: CCI primers
November 19 2022 12:40:02 PM MST
Yes, I agree.  The primer and powder shortages are now 2 or 3 years old?  It seems to me loaded ammo is controlled by
the government and is expensive.  The market is limited to .223 and 9MM for the most part. The limited ammo and high
prices will collapse the American gun markets.
The far left Democrats and Prez Joe "Hitler" Biden also are working with European Politicians to shut down gun companies.
Look at the gun laws in the state of Oregon.
