Gear/Equipment / Re: Red Dots for 10mm

jazzsax8, awesome info, thank you.
Just ordered one.
riggeek, that is a nice looking rig. Do they mill the nubs into the slide? Or is it just relying on the screw threads?

Rooster41, thank you very much, that is what I needed to know.
I have the Holosun 507K x2, which actually has co-witnessing sights, so we shall see.
The 507K has very shallow indentations for plate nubs and than has 2 screws mid-set.
Is it absolutely needful to utilize the nubs? No adapter plates seem to be designed for those yet.
Blaster, thank you for your perspective.
One of our Sheriff Deputies recently returned from a combat instructor training and is heavily favoring RedDot style sights now. I have run shooting drills with his XDM and a 1911 and I am really loving this system.

Gear/Equipment / Red Dots for 10mm
January 09 2021 04:14:01 PM MST
Hello all.
Does anyone have experience with RedDots on milled slides vs dovetail inserts?
Thoughts of failure rates of each? The literature is both lacking and mixed.
And, are there brands that do not handle the punishment of a G20 or other 10mm autos?
Thanks in advance!

January 07 2021 06:48:49 PM MST
Hello all, Noob here again.
Don't know if its appropriate to ask, and if not, please educate me.
Does anyone know of any place selling Federal Hydra Shok 10mm.
Someplace willing to ship?
I need duty carry ammo to sight in my new red dot on my G20.
Thanks.

10mm revolvers / Re: Chiappa Rhino 10mm?

Interesting indeed.
I ran some numbers and the chamber pressures seem to be within tolerances, at least for 10mm auto. Especially if the company can really increase the toughness of the cylinders, as they say on the website.
The problem I have is the level of manufacturing standards. I dry-fired a Chiappa Rhino in a gunstore once and for half the chambers, it pulled smooth. For the second half, there were slight hitches throughout the trigger pull. But,,, some people love them and have no issues.
Will have to think on it.

Indeed I have and I'm watching for it.
But sadly, the newest 5 inch 10mm GP is only partial lug and it does not seem to be made in stainless.
But hope springs eternal.
For now I'm going with an SW 610 6 inch, eventually reamed to 10 mag with porting and a red dot (for the eyes). It will be perfect for riding in the mountains.
For daily carry, a Wiley Clapp 10mm GP with a bobbed hammer.
I am not the only one looking for this. There is a thread on the Ruger forum about 2 months ago with people looking for something similar. So perhaps the powers-that-be will smile upon us.

Hello all. Very new here, but I have read many postings of the years. And I have to thank you all for the valuable information posted as well.
So, I am looking for design that is very specific.
GP100 chambered in 10mm, with a 4-6 inch barrel, with full under-lug barrel. Able to be slab sided.
I know SW 610's have full lugs, but I love the lines and design of the GP100.
Is this even a possibility, or would it behoove me to look at a regular 357 and have it converted by Clements?
Thank you,
