Wow!  :o

You don't need a rifle with that kind of performance.

Well.........................
I do have two 10mm carbines, both with a red dot. A Mechtech where I use my Dan Wesson Razorback as a lower, and my TNW Aero survival rifle.

I had only set up my target at 50 yards to make sure I was hitting the paper and get a rough estimate of group size. Get this, I hadn't even zero'ed the scope in yet. Rest assured the single flyer was MY fault, not the Pistol's fault.

Figured I got me a keeper here.

I have two Ruger Revolvers,aA Ruger Redhawk in .44 mag, and a Super Redhawk in 10mm. I would rather have either revolver in the woods over any Glock ever made. But thst's a personal choice. Glocks just don't feel right in my rather small short fat fingered hand. But that is probably the ONLY reason. Not because of dependability issues with either. And not for 15 rounds vs. six rounds either. I always figured if you need more than six rounds to do the job, you should be running....not pulling a trigger.

Another 200 rounds of 180gr berrys plated over 9.7gr of blue dot without a single malfunction.

Sound like the recipe I pretty much use as my standard 10mm reload, except I use Precision Bullets .40 cal 185 grain RNF's for the projectiles.

Dang it, gunmakers gotta stop jumping on the 10mm Bandwagon. Every time another one comes out with one, I WANTS one! I last succumbed when Ruger made the Super Redhawk in 10mm and I immediately went out and bought one.

Fenix replied to me. They use a 5.75" barrel for 10mm velocity, so that sucks. They said I should expect 1325-1350 from a Glock 20. So that would be 1275 or so from a G29.
I wonder what they would do in my TNW Aero Survival Rifle with its 16 inch barrel?

I wasn't trying to start a brand war.

It all just comes down to preferences:

  • Plastic vs Steel
  • Large capacity vs Standard capacity
  • Striker fired vs Hammer fired
  • Three safeties all connected and automatically released by pulling a 5.5 lb trigger vs three safeties (series 80)
that are separate and independent of a 6 lb trigger that can be worked as low as a crisp 3 lbs if desired.
  • A pistol unsafe on the dance floor vs a pistol that is safe on any dance floor --- https://youtu.be/9AXSzybhZd0
Again, it's all just a matter of personal preference. The Kimber is a nice new option for those who prefer a 1911.

I am not really trying to, either. It is just I have very small short fat fingered hands. I do not handle double stacked magazined guns well. Also I find the grip angle to be quite strange. If I point a Glock at a target without really aiming it I am finding that I am holding the gun really high off the bull. Not good in a SHTF situation where there may not be time fo proper aiming. If you have to have a double stack I find an EAA or Tanfoglio Witness to be more natural, almost as good as the many 1911 10mm pistols I own, most of which I naturally point right at be near the bull. This is all persona; quirks and may not apply to you.

mewe.com, a gun friendly alternative to Facebook, has a LOT of people selling brass.

I also need to shoot up much of my already loaded stuff. I have ones I reloaded in 2006!

I'll take a revolver every time for woods carry.

No amount of capacity is going to make up for the Glock's trigger vs most revolvers.

Single action I agree. Double action I disagree.

I donno. I jut traded in a single action Ruger Superblackhawk for a double action Ruger Redhawk, I prefer the DA. And I just got the DA Ruger Super Redhawk in 10mm, and I like it a WHOLE lot.

Obviously I am late to this party, but if I was going into known Grizzly bear country, my first choice would not be a 10mm.
I would carry my S&W 329PD loaded with something like Underwoods 220 gr. Xtreme Penetrator  or a 300 gr. Hardcast load. If all I had was the 10mm for a pistol, I would load it with a heavy hardcast bullet and then buy or borrow a 12 gauge and load it with slugs.

where you get a .40 cal 300 grain hardcast?

If l felt the need to shoot a simpler round like a nine, l would break out my SIG P-229 with be 357SIG barrel and let fly some warp nine 124 grains.

No, I sold it.  ;D

BOOOOOOOOOOO! Because you didn't sell it to ME!

Apparently you didn't see my ad here.
Nope, but to your gripe about the ammo cost....Not if you reload them like I do. Components easy, abundant, and almost as cheap as 9mm, except hang on to your empty cases!
