I agree with Grim Reaper on this. My son just got started reloading and i gave him my old Dillon and some supplies. He didn't listen to me and forgot to chamferr the inside of the case mouth. I went to pull a bullet to check his powder charge and as hard as i tried i couldn't get that bullet out. This was a Montana gold FMJ so no hole for the lead to come out. I imagine if the mouth is gripping the jacket with a strong crimp that the lead could come out with enoigh hits of the kinetic puller. If there are enough burrs on the case mouth they will dig into the jacket and bite like a bear trap when crimped

Yes, more idiots!  It isn't all that bad, however.  The new law only applies to "new production" handguns.  All previous production currently approved for sale in CA aren't required to have the BS micro-stamping.  It only applies to handguns that are not yet marketed.  We're hopeful the "law" will be stricken before any new guns are introduced.  Many/most manufacturers are declining to register new weapons with the CA DROP list anyway, so the affect will be minimal in any case.

The California Attorney General reads the law differently, and at the new conference I saw said "newly sold semiautomatics" are subject to the requirements. They are going to label models by year, so a Colt 1911 2012 model is different from a Colt 1911 2013 model by the law. I couldn't find a video of the press conference but this article paraphrases her: http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Gun-control-Cartridge-ID-law-to-take-effect-4527165.php#ixzz2TerXKVee "But at a Los Angeles news conference Friday, Harris announced that micro-stamping had cleared all technological and patenting hurdles and would be required on newly sold semiautomatics, effective immediately."

I saw this as well and even if that wasnt the laws intent thats how she says she interprets it.

I was just telling a friend the other day that this treaty would eventually be used to stop importation of foreign made guns. Glocks and AK47's in particular..I know they would love to ban those for civilian use. No more witnesses, Sigs, H&K etc. Its purely speculation at this point, but do I trust Obama? No.

Grim hit the nail on the head. All the "scary" guns used by gangsters in the hood are Glocks, Sigs, AK-47's, Uzis. They are in all the rap songs. They are in the movies kids in urban areas love to watch. Its not "cool" in the ghetto of chicago to carry an American made revolver. Kids aren't rapping about Colt 1911's or Ruger 357 magnums. They can and will use this treaty to block the foreign guns first. My guess is the second step will be tax the American gun companies or the buyers (us) so high the American gun companies go out of business. With the foreign companies banned, guns will become obselete. With the stroke of a pen, this treaty probably gives the president this authority without congressional approval.
