Doubletap was the first to load full power 10mm like Underwood does and Swampfox did. Of course we know what doubletap did to their customers with the power levels and is now trying to get their customer base back from Underwood with hotter loads these days. The point I'm trying to make is Doubletap has always used Nickel plated cases and I've read opinions of reloaders on this forum that DT's caseings are the best quality for reloading with plated caseings. So nickel is not so unusual for 10mm.

The XTP was always a bullet that stayed together until Hornady revised it with a larger cavity opening . All of my older stock, 2 to 3 years has a smaller opening then what they make now. It is a strong bullet, or was with a heavy jacket. Look at all of the most powerfull calibers most are pushing the XTP.

Reloading 10mm ammo / Re: Nosler 180 gr JHP in stock

I just thought I'd mention there are Nosler 180 grain jhp listed on Wideners site for $46.45 for 250 count in stock.

Another explanation for one of the high readings you got on the chrono is that one or more of the bullets in that box was the wrong weight. I bought some 200 grain xtp's on 4/27 and the first one I pulled out of the box was a 155 grain xtp in the nickel case. Someone must have picked up some from a drum and then droped them in the wrong drum not paying attention to what they were doing? Also are you guys using the date of puchase or date listed as the lot# or is there an actual lot number I'm missing somewhere.

Thanks Shadow. I have 4k or more of Kevins ammo. The several thousand rounds of DT was from right after they backed it way down and people were just starting to realize it. So that's how old it is. I have mostly xtp from underwood and maybe a thousand of the 135 from when they were in the white box they used to use. Swampfox used to load the 180 xtp at 1325 or 1350 if requested. I saved 10 boxe's of his ammo, Mike was a great guy.

So now they don't even meet spec? I wonder what else they backed down and when. I've spent a small fortune, for me on his ammo in the last six months or so. As in over 4k of rounds mostly the more expensive offerings . The new numbers might be fine for some but I bought this ammo on all the reviews of it being on the plus side of it's rated velocity. sorry if i'm bitchen a little as I stare at several thousand rounds of watered down Doubletap..

I sent them an email over the weekend about the listed speed of the 200 grain V supreme load now being 1108 fps vs the 1250 it was when I last bought it. The owner got back to me in a day or so and said, It's a mistake on the website, the script that uploads it copies the wrong description from our database. It will be corrected this week and the V supreme loads are the same as always.
