They shipped my order about a month ago. I'd been on back order for only a couple weeks though. I didn't really *need* any more but we always *need* more right? Timing is everything.

Has anyone used Penn bullets, specifically this one?

That's the kind of information I was hoping to get. Thanks for the informative reply.

I'm starting to collect milsurp rifles and am considering getting a C&R license so I can have the rifles mailed directly to me. I'm wondering who here might have one, because another advantage (if there actually be any advantage having anything to do with The Beast) that used to come with having a C&R is the discounts you get with most companies/dealers like Midway etc., but I have been reading that many (most?) of those companies no longer give a discount, since they were made aware C&R licensees do not resell the items they buy from them.

Anyone have a C&R and actively using it? Even if I wasn't going to collect milsurps the ammo discounts alone would make it worth the $30.

I hope this works out for you.

With only one exception I have missed every gun I ever sold.  List isn't short, and contains some that people might consider real stinkers.  But, every one of them would get use if I still had them.

My list is short - less than 10. All of them at once during a divorce in late 90s. I've never sold one since and never will. Too hard to come by.

She's a keeper. I have one too. I bought 3 guns in two days last week and didn't ask permission (easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to get permission). Before she found out, I suggested we buy her some new granite counter tops for the kitchen. She found out about the guns today but still in hog heaven over the counter tops so I am in the clear.

I need reloading equipment next so she's going to get new floors soon.  She doesn't know about either. Yet. 8)

Hoss, that's quite a collection I'm jealous. Have you thought about doing a write-up making a comparison, or if not a comparison maybe a likes/dislikes and or advantages/disadvantages of their different characteristics and nuances? I'd be all eyes to read that. Do you reload? I'm gathering info for that now and have a thread started with some great relies in the Reloading forum.

Hi George,

I'm new here also, but already feel at home. I too just bought a G20 SF Gen 3 to replace a G20 I lost in the woods. Great forum here. Welcome!

red - yes I am still in research - no equipment just components.

bullet - I was looking at the Lee anniversary pretty hard (even mentioned it in my intro post). Thanks for the confirmation

shadow - I'll look at that kit too. I have the allowance for it just want to be frugal as possible without buying junk.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll update (and ask more questions of course) as I proceed.

I want to start loading my own 10's, and can't justify a $500+ setup, so I'd like to ask if anyone uses, or started out using, a single stage press. For now, I'd like to pretend I won't start shooting so much that I'll need to sell my single stage and graduate to a progressive press, so just play along with me on that for now please. We can make fun of my lack of foresight in a few months when I sell it to step up to a progressive. ;D

It's probably a good idea for me to learn the basics of cartridge reloading first though correct? So what is a good book or combo of good books that starts out an old shell reloader like me down the cartridge path? Any recommendations of a good primer/s? I'm sure eventually I'll graduate to my other calibers but for now I'm only interested in reloading 10. Thanks.

I'm Kevin, 54, and live in Texas. I'm married to my HS sweetheart and we're empty nesters now (5 kids). I own a sawmill, love woodworking, manufacture a woodworking jig (yes some things are still made in the USA), and I also own and administrate a woodworking related forum. As you can tell I'm as nuts about all things wood as I am firearms. I just bought my second G20 - to replace the first one I lost in the woods logging last year. It was like losing a kid almost, I'm still not fully recovered and may be scarred for life.  I finally gave up finding it and bought a G20 SF Gen 3 Sunday and can't wait to get my hands wrapped around it.

I ended up here searching for reloading info - I have all the components I need to roll my own (I bought powder, primers, & brass 3 years ago seeing where prices were going to go) except the actual reloading equipment. I'm looking at getting the Lee Challenger Anniversary kit and adding a good after market beam style scale to replace the POJ it comes with. I don't plan to do a ton of reloading and think it'll be alright for my purposes, but I'll be asking that and other questions in the reloading forum later.

This looks like a great site - I'm happy to be here. Kevin.
