Finally got my VZ G10 grips for the Ruger SP-101.  These are the 'hyena-brown' version:

VZ Grips just announced, that their G10 grips will be available for Ruger SP-101 revolvers on March 11th.  Price will be $80 USD.  They also plan on making these for the GP-100 series too.  These will be far better than the dismal, factory-grips that come standard on these pieces.

I have a set on my Lew Horton N-frame, and couldn't be happier.

Here's a link for those interested:

Hard to pass on a 10mm Kimber Custom II for under $800 USD.  Since, most of their base-models start at a grand, or slightly more.  Picked-up this Gold Match in .45 ACP for under-a-grand, when Galyan's was still in business.  I like it so-much, that I bought a Target II in 10mm shortly afterwards.  I think, that you will really like your new pistol!

I bought my 'Razor' a few years-back new, and paid a little north of $1200 USD; if I remember correctly.  It's accurate, solid, and a well-built 1911.

What would be, even more interesting; would be to see a King Cobra in 10mm.  Perhaps, the Anaconda would-be more germane.  But I can see your dilemma.  I would probably, go with the sage advice already given, and grab a 610 first.  As a manufacturer, S&W can be quite capricious when comes to the 610 runs.  The Kimber will always be there, when your ready.  The Colt does look inviting though.

S&W has a repugnance to marketing-input.  Especially, in regard to the 10mm.  Their stainless-steel 10xx-series are still sought-after by collectors, and shooters alike.  How they got around to re-introducing the 610 is beyond me.  Seems like they have a 'black-belt' in stupid over there!

I need a 3inch to go with the 6.5in and 4in no locks I already have Smith.

The 3" Lew Horton is a hoot to shoot!  Recoil was manageable with all my preferred loads.

Interesting to see S&W re-introduce the 'classic' 610.  Someone in their 'marketing-department' actually listened.  Most of those, who field 10mm, 1911's often have a GP-100, or 610 in the battery to compliment the other handgun. These 'new' revolvers will most likely have the same dimensions as previous incarnations.  It would be a neat 'hat trick' if Dan Wesson introduced a 10mm revolver in their 'pistol-pak' format.  But I'll accept the 'good news' from S&W.  It shows; that the 10mm caliber popularity, is still creating more market-share.  That's a good thing for our favorite chambering.  There are still a few manufacturing holdouts, who still; do not produce a 10mm autopistol.  Some of those being:  S&W, FN, Walther, HK, and Steyr.  At least, the last-time I checked.  Finally, If you don't like auto-pistol cartridges in a revolver, just don't buy one.  Leave the rest of us, shoot in peace.  :P

This one looks like a big win for Ruger.  Especially, for those who missed out on those Lew Horton 3" model 610's.  These are going to become classics too.  Somebody over-there is actually listening to their customer-base now.

I'm glad to see, Ruger is finally listening to it's customers.  They used to be the last ones to offer anything new, or exciting.  The GP-100, is a much more versatile platform, than the big Super Redhawk.  The Super, would also be a good candidate for a 10mm Magnum conversion.  I wonder, as someone else mentioned, if S&W will get-woke, and offer the 610 as a re-issue?  They offer no autopistols in this caliber either, amazing.

I mused about Ruger coming-out with a 10mm revolver a couple years ago.  I thought for sure, it would be the basic Redhawk, or GP-100.  Anything that helps mainstream the 10mm is all right with me though.  The more 10mm's the better.  I'd give Ruger a chance, to see what else they come-out with in the near-future.

This is one beautiful pistola:

It seems natural, that a company like Coonan would eventually chamber a 1911 in the vaunted 10mm cartridge.  The 'round' too tough for the FBI!

I would pick the SIG, simply because it is more user-friendly to a southpaw.

10mm semi-auto handguns / Re: SR1911 10mm in hand

Doesn't seem like a bad pistol for the money.  I would do a few minor tweaks, such as new grips, trigger, and ambi-safety.  Maybe Ruger, will deign to offer this 1911 in .38 Super someday; we can only hope.

I wouldn't mind seeing Dan Wesson chamber a 10mm-version of their revolver.  Same goes for the Ruger GP-100, or Redhawk.  Especially, since Ruger made a .44 Special.  A lot of the polymer-giants, also have as of yet, neglected the 10mm.  Can you say:  FN, CZ, H&K, Walther, Springfield Armory, and Beretta?
