Mine, with modded slide spring pocket to accept a flat wound spring. It's a beautiful thing.  ;D

Is the muzzle blast from the 3.6" tube as brutal as I imagine it is? Of course it's only 1/4" shorter than a G29. So I imagine the 180 Underwood's are moving around 1200 ?

It's not bad, but I still haven't run any of my Underwood collection through it, cause I'm skeert. LOL Been mostly shooting Armscor and Sig 180gr stuff. The sig ammo is fairly potent and enough to keep my attention, whereas Armscor feels a tad weak. But whatever, I'm just happy to have the Witness compact running at 100% since the mod. You'd think a manufacturer could figure this out on their own, right? Or maybe not? So far no one has called me to my opinion.  :P :P

Sounds like you had a great day!  Been so hot down here, trying to change the oil in my truck was a battle zone with this heat!  :'(

I hate the freezing winters and the muggy hot humid summers in NC. There's only a two week period in Spring and Fall that suits me, so I'm in big trouble! Recommendations of where to retire to are all appreciated. Florida?

This mod was crucial to me to get a single flat wound spring to work. The OEM gun came with a dual spring system (one large and one smaller inside spring). It was crap and I couldn't believe EAA would release this setup. Of course, they're selling imported samples and probably had no idea this wouldn't work. And it never did. The dual springs got entangled in each other and would eventually break. In order to get the flat spring to install, I had to cut about half the spring pocket out of the slide. It worked perfectly if you have the guts to take that step. And you really should! The results meant no more failures, no more weak cycling issues, and 100% RELIABLE. However, do you have the GUTS to try it? C'mon people, a hack saw (or mill), a Dremel and some Oxpho-Blue will make your project sing. Good luck and let me know your results.

10mm semi-auto handguns / EAA Witness 10mm Compact Range Day
September 12 2019 02:55:18 PM MDT
Shot a couple guns today, but the star of the show was my Witness 10mm Compact. This is the gun that I heavily modified to accept an ISMI flat wound spring, and it has never failed since. I put 150 rounds through it today without a hiccup. The other was the Sig P365. Had one FTE, but it otherwise ran well. Until next time....

Same answer still stands.  The frame to barrel interface angles and dimensions are differend on a G29 than they are on the G20/40.  No G20/40 barrel is going to work on a G29.

I would add, don't be like me and try it anyway.  I had to dis-assemble my gun from the inside out to get it back apart, like taking apart a ship in a bottle without breaking things.  It was quite the 15-20 minutes of panic.  They way the geometry works out the striker will cock, but cannot be released because the slide won't go into battery fully.
For a second there I thought you were talking about me! LOL   ;D

I have shot a lot of rounds through both my 9mm and my 45 ACP Bobergs and have never had a case/bullet separation.

The main problem is Blazer and the cheap red box Federal you buy at Walmart are plated bullets and not jacketed.  You can't get a good crimp on them.  There are other brands that do not crimp also but those two are the worst.

Bond has an extensive list of recommended ammo and recommends WWB for range work.
I tested a bunch of ammo in the Boberg for separation issues. Had a couple. I don't know if Bond Arms has modified the internals, but I do like the new one with the longer slide. Doesn't look as goofy to me.  ;D   Here's a link to my article. http://commonbullets.com/wp/archives/1086

I may need to revisit the G29 since it doesn't appear anything slimmer is on the way to market. The smallest 10mm I have is the EAA compact (it's the one I modified to accept a flat recoil spring). But still, it's about the size of my Glock 19. My favorite is the Stock II, but heeaavvy! The other one is the converted 40 S&W Chief's Special. It's the perfect gun for a conversion to 10mm since it shares mags with the 45ACP, and same ejection port size (all you have to do is remove the spacer in the magazine and bore the chamber for 10mm. Still heavy, though. Diamondback might be brave enough to try a small 10mm based off their new compact DB AM2, which is really stout and thin enough (slide is .95") for me to carry. I have it in 9mm. Since I know someone who knows someone, I should petition for it! :D

10mm semi-auto handguns / Another new 10MM at Shot?

Maybe a couple. Tom Gresham hinted at wishing for a compact 10mm to carry if somebody produced one, but wouldn't say more. Then I read there's a new Glock 29 that's a single stack. G29X? A slimmer, lighter G29 would be awesome.   8)

Unreasonable and unfair. I hope they take a beating on it.

Here's the latest range trip with a 16x scope at 100 meters. It's fun being able to see a target like you're standing on top of it! 20 rounds of Silver Bear ammo. The inner circle is 1.5".

I'm a little different. I just leave all of mine factory stock just the way they shipped.

Me too!  ::) Oh wait, there's that EAA Compact P 10mm that got accidentally modified to take a flat wound spring. I must have been drinking. But, that sucker is still sending rounds down range with no issues. Me likey.

beautiful Beagle. I like hounds and over the years have had a Redbone, Black & Tan and 2 Beagles.  the little Beagles are definitely the cutest but are still hounds!  all they want to do is sleep, eat and hunt;D

Exactly! You can train them until you're blue in the face and out of treats, but let a rabbit or squirrel show up in the yard and there's no amount of food or commands that will keep her from baying and chasing. Reminds me of Anthony Perkins. Or better yet Nicholson in The Shining. LOL

She's taken off her Xmas gear and returned to her normal psycho beagle self. I work on her training several times a week, but she only reacts when there are treats involved. When the treat pouch comes off, she returns to super psycho mode. It never ends!  >:D
