Reloading 10mm ammo / Magnum versus standard LP primer
July 04 2025 02:17:20 PM MDT
I have some old cci, large pistol magnum. Primers, i've been restocking with new these old primers were dated 97. I was running a hundred of these to see if they were still good, they are.
I'm running nine point seven grain's of aa #7, and I ran them with standard fiocchi, primers and the cci magnum, primers, the magnum primers, leave the brass completely black carbon all over the outside, not as accurate, as the fiocchi, and the fiocchi's leave the brass almost completely clean. Are the primers just too hot for that load of powder and 180gn bullet in a g29 short barrel.?

Reloading 10mm ammo / Brass CBC head stamp.
July 04 2025 02:06:35 PM MDT
Does anybody else have any head stamp cbc brass the primer pockets don't seem to be as deep. They seem to be looser in the shell, holder and primers seem to be not Seating uniformly because of the looseness.

General Discussion / 200gn

Just curious if anybody else has noticed when running 200 grain bullets, my G20 and G29 seemed to be more accurate and less felt recoil, I'm running 180's also both arround 1150 fps. 200gn fp and 180gn rn

Gunsmithing / G20-4 Mods Test
May 05 2025 03:18:36 PM MDT
Ok I know some of you do not like mods I love to experiment on my own range with this g20.

started off with a ghost 3.0 connector made the trigger a bit less spongy and a little crisper.
then i said lets try a 4.0 pound striker spring which never worked for me before, Well it made the trigger less everything down to 2,10.0, 2 pounds 10 oz something, I started off with a 5 pound striker spring a 3.5 connector at around 3 pounds 12oz and no ftf with the new setup i got about 5 out of 10 ftf with standard plastic sleeve, I said ok lets try a brass firing pin sleeve that cut it down to 3 of 10 ftf. Then i said lets try the ghost firing pin marine spring clips that cut it down to 1 of 10 ftf, so then i said lets polish the brass sleeve and that has it down to 0 of 10 ftf. But the trigger is way to easy, couple of times it went off before i was completely ready not good, so I have some 4.5 lb striker springs coming. this sure makes the g20 more accurate pulling the heavy trigger I end up pulling slightly off target.
I also tried the 6 lb trigger spring and that was a total bust would not reset half the time guess it was trying to reset out of time.
I also have all the original parts to make it stock at any time, I carry the g29 with a few mods Trigger pull in the mid to high 4 lb range

https://gaminde.net/Shooting/LH-P-D.php

This is a video I made of the 140 grain and a the 150 grain Lehigh penetrator and Lehigh defender.

I shot through a 2x12 into 10 pounds of clay, and then I had an 8x6 as a backstop the bullets went 1 and 2 inches deep into the 8x6.

I need to try this with XTP and gold dots as a comparison.

General Discussion / AA9 200gn
April 24 2025 01:59:50 PM MDT
I need some thought here. I just undid all of my one eighty grain ten millimeter with a a seven I just reset up ten millimeter 200gn grain with aa9 9 shots.
12.4 grains of AA9 should be in the 1100's with a 200 grain bullet. My average was 1350, no apparent bulging, no bad primers.
Definitely, had to hold on shot Great. What did I do wrong.

General Discussion / 10mm 185gn lehigh xtrm defender
April 14 2025 01:40:27 PM MDT
I just purchased a box of these bullets to reload. I went on their site and downloaded the load data. It is extremely anemic, probably loaded to 40 Cal. Specs under 1100 feet per second I would like to get these into the 1150 range. That is where my gun seems to Just love bullets. Has anybody experimented with these? And maybe give me some of your input.
I have loaded lehighs, one hundred and forty and one hundred and fifty gn in the fifteen hundred feet per second range in the past.
I have A #7, A #9, BE86, CFE PISTOL AND LONGSHOT.
I was thinking maybe hoping, that I could use 200 grain data, at least.
And yes, these do seem to be longer bullets.
