Hey guys, I'm going to put together some test loads with this bullet, do you have a particular favorite powder? I have, among others, Longshot, CFE pistol, 800X, Blue Dot, #7 and #9. I use Longshot with this bullet in my 40's and get absurd velocities. Also have Power Pistol, but I'm almost out and have little hope of resupplying anytime soon... Thanks

Edit.. I'm shooting a Glock 20 and 29, both with factory length KKM barrels.

Those powders will work to get them up to good velocities...

CFE Pistol Powder test
135 grain HST over 10.2 grains CFE Pistol seated to 1.2500"
CCI 350 primer Star*-*Line Brass (used but pass-through reconditioned)
Velocity 1672 fps from the Glock 20 factory barrel, Wolff non captive recoil rod & 22lb spring.  Max case expansion is 0.4325"

800X gets them up there with 11.8 grains but they might start to smile the brass
The "10mm" I'm Packin', Has The Bullets Wackin', Smakin' & The Slide is Rackin' & Jackin'!

Oh yes, I've seen that CFE test of yours. Stunning increase in velocity over the book results. It's one I've never tested in the 10, I put some together last night along with 800x. The annoying thing is, I've done load testing with a few of these powders some years ago with the 135 and lost all my data  :(

14.0gr VV N105 1650fps from a 6" Witness.  Start low and work up.  It may be too hot for your particular barrel/pistol.
Don't use magnum primers.

I remember you Tony, we met at a varmint shoot many years ago. You had some big caliber AR conversion.

I dont have my data here but seem to remember #9 and in my 16" I have taken two Coyotes. WOW WOW DOES THAT BULLET PREFORM. ONE animal had a exit but wasnt large. Both dropped on the spot with 45-55y shots vel IIRC was 1800+

They also shot very well.

Today I shot up to 10.2 CFE Pistol with the Nosler 135, Starline brass, Fed standard primer. Averaged 1510 in my KKM 4.6". I know there are infinite variables, but I'm 160 fps behind you. I can't imagine magnum primers having much of a difference, but I'm going to run the load again with them. I'm shooting this bullet out of a 5" Walther PPQ 40 at 1550 fps.

I went up to 12.2 800X for 1610 fps in the Glock 20 and 1530 in the 29.

I've never seen 135 HST's..

highxj, how did your brass look with the 800X loads?  Did you see bulges or smiles?

Negative, the rims were a bit nicked up though. Otherwise, nothing close to a smile.

1485 with 11gr of Ramshot Silohuette.  Brass and primers both looked pristine, no pressure signs at all. H800x is my favorite 10mm ppwder though. It's funny, about an hour ago I got out my box of Nosler 135's and primed 40 new Starline cases and was trying to decide which powder to use.

Lol, I rethink that a lot once I sit down at the bench

My notes say
Quotebrutal & hard hitting round

12 grains of Longshot and 1540 FPS from my stock bbl Kimber

I have since changed to 180 & 200s with faster powder. BE83 & such.
