IN need of some range therapy today. Decided I would take a risk re rain. It has been raining so much here in NC. Maybe it's monsoon season.
Took my 5" GP-100 and about 18 full moon clips of plinking ammo-180s over 7 grs of Long Shot. I am all in for full moon clips as you can load up and go quite quickly as compared to using a semi-auto.
I had to send my 625-6 to S&W due to a malfunction and when it was returned-spring for yoke screw?- it functioned as it should. I noticed  several packs of full moon clips in the box and when I looked more closely at them, immediately saw that they were not for a .45. IN total, there were 12 clips   that must have been  manufactured for  the S&W 646. They were identical to the 3 that Ruger supplied with the GP. No way would I pay about $6.00 a piece for them but I will use them and glad to get them.
GP was accurate and seems to like L/S.
Really like the GP but had to replace the grips that were supplied.
Did get to fire 14 clips before it started raining so I feel just about restored, lol.

You can get 646/GP100 Ranch Moonclips for about $2 apiece. I got a bunch from Midway for $8.99 for a pkg of 8.

Got 17 for $24.00 from Ranch Products ( bakers doz. ? - ordered 16 ) I have trouble with some of the brass going into these clips. Ordered 10 plastic clips for $32.60. Have some nickel plated cases I was using for my 610 that don't cause problems using the Ranch clips. Now have 45 moon clips so I don't need any more, counting 18 Ruger moon clips. Got the dozen Ruger clips from S&W free when they repaired my 625 and returned it.

Not all cases are the same. From what I've read, Starline & Remington work best (almost all of my cases are Starline); S&B, Geco and Wolf are said to be very hard or impossible and Federal is said to be difficult, but I haven't had difficulty with Federal. Maybe you should keep some of your Ruger moonclips. I bought a bunch of Ruger clips, but found that they bent easily. I bought some plastic ones too and they seem OK, but Ranch Products are the best and the cheapest.

Range day "Group Therapy", the best kind.
I too like the Ranch moon clips for my M610.  Over 5k rounds using only three clips, haven't bent one yet.
