Success! Got my 4 wheeler fixed!

I spent this evening cleaning out the jets on the carburetor on my 4 wheeler; even though I'm using ethanol free fuel the gas fouls the jets in short periods of time.  Last time it cost me $140 to have a shop do it, this time I took matters in my own hands!

The jet for the idle was completely stopped up!  That's why it would only run with the choke on.  I studied the thing over in good light and figured an easy way to accomplish the task without total removal of everything.

There wasn't much on the web for my model other than many people having same issue. But was able to turn the carburetor enough to get to the bottom and remove the float bowl, to access the stuff I needed to get to. Cleaned all three jets out.

It has been rain/snow free here for almost a week.  Thinking I might have to figure out how to get the Magna out of the garage!

Do you put an additive in the fuel?

No additive, but I will from now on...the gasoline these days is trash!  Going out tomorrow to get some stuff for the boat and bike!

I run Seafoam in most of my vehicles now...
I had a stuck open valve in my motorcycle from the crap ethanol additives  ( no compression, wouldn't start ). Turns out a long high speed run after a new fill of bad gas left goo on the valve stems that thicken up after cooling so valve couldn't close 100%.
After I got it running started the additive every few full tanks, no problems in 2 yrs now.

I was reading over the Seafoam, PRI-g and Sta-bil products and reviews, still haven't completely made up my mind!

I actually found the Sart Tron product and trying it in my fuel to see if it is worth using it.

Saturday, ran the garden tiller over a few patches, then transplanted some green onions and parsley.  They are always good in the gumbos, stews and other dishes.  It Rained like 3 inches Saturday night & Sunday.

Today, was spent prepping the boat, got it running and flushed out, need to tweak a few things on the trailer and it's ready.

I shredded and mulched a bunch of leaves with the lawn mower on half an acre , so I sharpened the blade and cleaned the air filter, ready to go!  Got another half acre to do that has leaves on it.

Getting all this stuff out of the way, between weather systems.  Rain Tuesday & Wednesday again!

When you finish your leaves you can head my way, I live a mile off the main road on ten acres of hardwoods and I have leaves.

Today, I got a VuPoint slide and negative scanner to digitize old slides and negatives.  After I installed the drivers and software, I started scanning negatives into digital photos...this thing is neat and is working well...I may have 3000 rolls of negatives to do over time. 

But I need to retrieve the slides my dad made over the years and convert them to preserve those photos for mom, myself and other family members...It is time consuming but it will preserve years of memories! 

Nothing like seeing how things were way back!
