Finally became a member at our local indoor range. After adding up my monthly range fees at 24 something per visit, the $34.99 per month seemed like the way to go, plus it?s an easy drive living somewhat out in the sticks. If any of you live in the Mpls area, and haven?t been to the Stock & Barrel in Chanhassen, you need to check it out. Between the pleasant folks and the medical grade ventilation system, it?s a pretty cool place.

Since I joined my local place I have shot somewhere in the neighborhood of 5000 rounds and that's just since they opened in November!! State of the art vent system and new video target systems arwe cool all so. I have shot at leased once a day and most days twice. BYW I have bought two new guns there al so. A NK 509 and a Taurus th style gun. Craig

That?s awesome, I?m hoping to go at least weekly, but likely more, plus I leave with the majority of my brass, unlike my outdoor hayfield spot 😀

My local range used to be a great place, it was clean, had vending machines, a coffee table for regulars, and a gunsmith on site. They built two lanes for magnum handgun use only and two lanes with extended armored lane separators so carry license and competitors could train drawing.

They had memberships that the owner said kept the store stocked with goodies and guns.

Then a gal inherited the place who felt the memberships were "abused" by some like overweight people at all-you-can-eat restaurants and stopped the memberships. Due to lack of revenue, the place has fallen into disrepair and the range is now worse than a dump, dirty worn out floors, lighting broken, roaches, and worse the range itself is in an unbelievable state of disrepair. Yup she showed those abusive members :-)

All in all it's a great example of how to cut off your nose to spite your face.

Hey Gary, I used to go to a range along those lines 15 or 20 years ago in a sketchy suburb of Mpls. The last time I went there (years ago) there were two guys in gang colors shooting their pistols sideways, it?s like really. I?m pretty sure they shouldn?t be in possession of a firearm, Lol. The only good thing that came out of that was the realization that some gang thugs practice too, needless to say, I haven?t been back in 15 years
