At one time there was a guy I think on this forum that was building a device that hooked to a barrel and then to his computer to read pressure on a given shot. Anybody remember what happened to this setup??? I have a friend that works for the government that buys the copper balls that they use now in large cannons to measure pressure to make sure that the shot will not destroy the barrels. I thought what I remembered about the computer setup it would work with some refinement in any cannon. I know it's been a while but does anyone remember anything about this setup??  Craig

Thanks Ken. These links are very interesting. I would have thought by now they would have thought of something better for measuring pressure as my friend uses this general design but has to get the copper balls from Germany I think he said. But anyway it was just something to think about as we could sure use this for reloading!! Craig

We don?t have to wonder when too much is too much, it?ll let us know, that?s why I let  places like Underwood do the heavy lifting

The fellow (Benchrst) that was making his test barrel from an AR barrel used to post here but haven seen or heard anything from him since!  Although he was last active here September 04 2022

Hey Ken ans Wade thanks for the come back. I thought it was this forum but wasn't sure. Personally as you know I am into less is more camp. I am trying to go lighter but end up too light sometimes Ha Ha. I think my friend will probably buy more copper whatever from Germany. Oh well thanks for the input.  Craig

Sounds like a good plan, I?ve always liked stout loads, but have traditionally been more ok with loading 9?s hotter than I load 10?s respectively. When I want something in the nuclear realm like Underwood?s 135gr / 1,600 fps, I?ll just let them do it.
