I'm trying to find a load that will have 180gr XTPs stay within 1150-1200 fps verified by chronograph out of 3.8" (XDM) or 4" (M&P 2.0) barrels.
Open to pretty much any currently obtainable powder and accuracy is not a high priority.
Thanks.

Good morning and welcome Professor!  Happy EASTER!
My suggestion would be with BE-86 powder as it burns clean and flash suppressed.
BE-86 with 8.0 grains
Blue Dot 10.4grains
Power Pistol 8.0 grains

As Shadow mentioned, BE-86 or Blue Dot make for some nice 180gr loads, also, welcome Professor

I'd go with BE86 for the flash suppression
The Blue Dot for better accuracy ... ( know you stated wasn't important )

good loads

The Professor

Thanks for the welcome and for the suggestions. Special thanks to The Shadow for the specific powder charges. I'll give those a try.

In my limited opinion, 10.4gr BD under a 180gr XTP or HAP is as accurate as I?ve seen, and is certainly more accurate than myself

The Professor

Hello, again.
Couldn't fins 1lb of BE-86 locally or online, and 8lbs is excessive for experimenting. I'll keep looking. In the meantime I'll put together some Blue Dot cartridges to try. From what I've seen online I can expect some flash and boom.

Kenk

Absolutely flash and boom, but is pretty impressive at sunset  😀

In another forum it was suggested that I try 8.0 grains of the latest - not the 9.5gr max version - version of Longshot. It is in the same area of burn rate as the powders mentioned here. Any thoughts?

I enjoy having the variety to experiment with the powders mentioned above. I'm curious why accuracy isn't a priority. I'm always looking for accuracy.

Kenk

Not sure what it is about Blue Dot, but it?s gets by far the best accuracy if I do my part
