There was a question post about the Quickloads Software in an other section so i started this thread becasue it is more geared to Handloading...The info can be found here in the link below.

Seeing the cost, for something that guestimates stuff, I'm not wondering anymore why it's almost impossible to find anyone who owns it.

I could maybe see ~$250.  But $750?!?  Ummmm, I'll pass.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

That was the cost of the chronograph that will interface with the software...
The Software is $152.95 plus S&H

And, for some applications it is really spot on.  Better the input, better the output.

At the cast boolits forum there are some Garand guys that use this software all the time to help develop op rod safe Garand loads.  Quickload not only will tell you pressure at the chamber and over time, but you can specify length of barrel and it will give you pressure at the muzzle.  Great sauce for determining port pressure on a gas operated rifle.

I sent an e-mail inquiry to ask some questions and they advised (7/9/2012) that IMR 800X is one powder they don't have support for in their data base.  This is also what the fellow who ran the test data for me advised.  BTW I sent him an e-mail and invite to join the forum, he also has some great data of loads (posted on other forums) he's tested as well.  I am hoping he will accept the invite!  :D

Thanks for the correction.  Makes more sense now.  Strange to me how they had everything written up at the website.

Though I can't understand why the chronograph would cost that either.  I read what they had to say about the chronograph and can't understand why I would want to own it over my CED M2 chronograph that I paid waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less money for.

I have had the software since about 2001. updates are $14.95 . I will say the software is good but sometimes the velocities do NOT correlate with my chronographed velocities ,This obviously means the pressure is different also.
I shoot a LOT of wildcat cartridges and use this software to begin working up loads based on case volume .
There are many things I like about this software- 1 is you can change the burning characteristics of the powder to match what your chronograph is telling you. (ie: if the software is saying the velocity is 2200 and your chrony shows 2350 fps you can RAISE the combustion level to match what is really happening) and that way your pressure and velocity will be accurate.

If only available for Mac or Linux I would be ponying up my money for a copy.
