If anyone wants pictures of these let me know. They are little babies but look so cool!!

REDLINE

I've always been amazed at the damage they can do.  Don't have a gun chambered in 22WMR at the moment, but have in the form of rifle and revolver for many years in the past.  The cartridge really does fill a nice niche in between the 22LR and 22 Hornet.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

My first experience with .22 Magnum but I think you could use that little FTX for home defense just fine. The Hornady round looks cool with the little red plug!

Pdx1 is by far the best hollow point .22mag ammo i have tested out of my pmr30.

Intercooler

I want to send some of these down to Raggedyman for gel if he gets rolling again.

Remington makes a couple I think but they are tough to find. As stuff becomes available I plan on testing as many as I can find.

I've shot many different 22 WMR factory loads.  The most accurate I ever came across were the Remington 40gr Pointed Soft Point (R22M2).  I don't know if they even make them anymore.  One of my general all around favorites was the Winchester Supreme 34gr JHP.  I never experienced some of the newer ones on the market.

OOH a 22 Mag post!!!  (My OTHER favorite caliber!!)  I have over a dozen so chambered!!!  LOVE IT!!  I also FINALLY picked up a PMR-30 last fall!!!

I have every 22Mag bullet made!! I have shot most and agree the Winchester 34g is one of THE most accurate I have seen!  Too bad you dont see them anylonger. I believe they are discontinued... I have a couple boxes I am hording! Another good one thats gone... Federal Premium, gold box 30g SIERRA HP. These shot about 3/4'' at 100 in my Ruger 22/77V.

A LONG time favorite is Federals 50g bullet! For explosiveness... (In a rifle) CCI +V bullet does the trick. My all around go to.. CCI 40g HP. Also I have yet to see a 22m that did not shoot the FMJ bullets well either.

I haven't choreographed them in years, I want to in the 6.5Ruger and PMR too.

My PMR likes the winny PDX but my Single nine likes the Hornadys... One Marlin likes the +V another only shoots the FMJs wheil a third shoots most into 1.5'' at 100 yards regardless of brand... Then there is my NAA revolvers for fun and deep backup...  YUP I like the 22M as much as my 10mms

Want to trade or sell off a few of any of them for testing?

Anyone interested in some pictures or anything? I plan on filling out the list as they turn up for sale.

They've disappeared too?!?  What a shame.  I've still have a box myself.

I agree with your enthusiasm toward the 22MAG! 8)  They're capable of a lot more damage than most give them credit for.  And of course most that don't give the credit where it's due haven't actually ever experienced it themselves.

Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way saying it's capable of equal terminal performance to even the 223 REM.  Just that what it's capable of is quite surprising over what 22LR is capable, and relatively speaking can do much more damage than most would guess.

Forgot to mention;  One load I always wanted to try out for overall performance is Speer's Gold Dot Short Barrel Personal Protection 22 WMR round.  It utilizes a 40gr Gold Dot.  You can view expansion and velocities from different barrel lengths in the second link listed below.

Any experience with those?  Thoughts?

Both are a GD bullet but the older one is said to preform better, I know it surely shoots better!!   :o :o ;D The older one has a bit bigger deeper HP. Also was a CCI product not a SPEER. (Same same really, just produced under CCI before and now Speer has it. Both are/where BLUONT))
