Ok.  Here's the deal.   I recently bought a g20 (Gen 2) on a whim.   had always wanted a 10mm and this is my first.  I love it....    but!   I really really like 1911's and shoot them better than anything.   just realized that rock island makes a 10mm 1911 and reviews are good.   I can't afford both right now!!!  Do I sell the g20 and get the RIA or stick with what I have?

purely a fun gun.  Won't carry or hunt with either.  G20 has tactical length lone wolf barrel.

curious to your thoughts on factors I should consider.    I do shoot the g20 pretty well.

Buy a gun you will carry or hunt with. You got your fun gun already.

How many rounds?  Its hard to beat the fact of having 15 +1 or even more with options... :o

I have only owned two other pistols i shoot as good as my gen 3 glock 20 and my gen 3 glock 23.. my ruger 22/45 (never will sell that one) and my old ruger sr40c (it was sold to help pay for the 23). Had a few problems with the sr40 and once ruger rebuilt it i got rid of it.

I am biased, I own the RIA and did not want a Glock even though my first 10mm was way back when Glock first released a 10mm. My RIA is my EDC.

seriously, I'm jealous of someone who can edc a full size steel 1911

Glock or 1911.  Apples and oranges.  There's no wrong answer just do what tickles your fancy at the time.

That being said I have a 10mm RIA.  Original gun had a couple of issues and went back to RIA.  They returned a new gun that had a bit of handwork done.  It's an absolute pleasure to shot and has been without fault.  Very pleased with the gun and especially RIA customer service.

Just keep the glock. No one is going to give you what you want for it. Just save up and buy the ria in time. Have both.

I concur. The glock will keep on running while a 1911 may require work and if your budget is that tight the glock would be better.

I am not the person to ask. There is not a single Glock model made that fits in my hand as well as a 1911, like the RIA.

That, and I just bought an RIA. It goes with my other 2 10mm pistols, both of them being 1911's. (Dan Wesson Razorback and Fusion Firearms Long Slide Hunter.)
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

dakota1911

That is a tough one but with the G20 you know what you have.  I guess I would try and save up and buy the RIA down the road but that is me.
