So I dont understand myself sometimes...  :o ;D

I mean I broke my back and a few ribs back in 2003, so yea it bothers me from time to time. But I deal with it, its life. It was not until I changed presses that I decided enough is enough...
Let me back up...last year I bought a new press, a RCBS Summit single stage. I have four presses On my benches a couple Dillon 550b's and a couple single stages. one is a cheapo LEE I keep a Ram primer setup in. The other was a RCBS Ammo Master then last year the Summit I mentioned above.
I have been loading allot of 25/45 testing loads, more recently allot of 357 Sigs also testing loads and "fixing" the dies. So I have accumulated a bunch of no good ammo that needs pulled to harvest the components. Well the Summit is opposite most presses and the shell stays stationary. The die bode moves up and down. This makes for a powerful press. (I make 358 Norma mags with one stroke from a pile of 416 Remingtons & a coat of Imperial sizing wax) BUT this press will not allow for the use of a collet bullet puller.

So I have had a Redding Load Boss for almost twenty years so decided to change out presses again, and run the Redding. When I did, its long handle and lo mounting really got me... in the back!

That night I looked thru a couple reloading component wish books and found that makers of "risers" for loading presses have EXPENSIVE PRODUCTS!  I have a shop full of fabrication tools, steel and ability to make things... So I did. I cut two pieces of 1/4" flat stock and a 10" piece of 2 x 3 x 1/8" square tube from the scrap bins. Chopped the 2 x 3 at slight angle for a forward rake and tacked it together. One of our apprentices welded it up. (He is learning, so not pretty, but good penetration and for what this is, just fine.)

Drilled some mounting holes in its base,  for the bench for 3/8" bolts.  IU removed the Load Boss and then mounted the riser.

Put the press on and marked and drilled it for mounting. I used 5/16" for this as I only had long 3/8" bolts on hand...

I now need to pull it off, finish grinding, prime and paint it. Its a perfect height for me. It is dead solid and should be something I should have made YEARS AGO!

Thought it might be something you guys might also appreciate making reloading a lil more comfortable.  Now If I could just stop dropping things so I would not need to bend over... :tango_face_wink::tango_face_smile_bi

Very, very nice.

Makes me anxious for my detached garage to be finished.  They put the sheathing on this week, so it is close.  My welder has been buried in the basement for 5 years, and the odd welding jobs are stacking up.

That mount looks very nice. Gonna have to get something like that for my Rockchucker one of these days.

Good for you CW, It should help out as it will change things up some.
I had been thinking about making a riser for one of my presses, however I never took the time yet to make it.
I have an adjustable computer chair that allows some ups and downs...

Those look awesome!

I played too hard as a kid and fractured a vertebrae when I was around 13. Stayed fit and things were fine until it suddenly went bad when I was 19. The disc dried up on one side and started bulging into my nerves on the other. Just before my 20th birthday I got a spinal fusion on my L3 and L4. Around 4 years ago things started hurting really bad and wouldn't calm down. After 4 months of heavy pain meds and muscle relaxants nothing was working and I was desperate. So I started trying Yoga and the few stretches I tried helped. I ordered a back yoga DVD. Within several days of doing it I was getting relief. It was cheesy and boring, but the results were there. I do that and try to at least do work outs for all my shoulder, back, lats, chest, and core. I'm not a body builder, just keeping things strong enough that I don't fall into the pain again. Anyways, here's the DVD I use. I try and share my story with others with back pain so they can avoid surgeries.

You're so fortunate to have the equipment and the fabrication skills to make such a useful accessory. This from an old guy going to see the neurosurgeon next week to talk about back surgery No. 3 ...  :(
