I agree with the author that the rights outlined in the Bill of Rights are not "given" by the government, but are natural rights of man.

But, as I have said other places both here and elsewhere, this is pure panic at this time.  The House is well populated by a majority of congressmen who are not going to vote for an AWB.  I may end up with egg on my face, but I just don't see it happening.

We need to just step back from this, let it die down.  If we are engaged about our opinions by people who are not rabid anti-gun nuts we should have our facts in order and use it as an opportunity to share the truth about legal firearms owners in the US.  And for the group whose minds can't be changed, we should politely suggest they move to another country with laws more in line with their thinking.

Hidden in the Gun Control Act of 1968.
The Treasury Secretary is vested with the right to (Ban Importation)any firearm that he finds"does not have a sporting purpose."Now that turbo Timmy is leaving, next up is a guy named Jack Lew,Currently Obamers Chief of Staff. While the authority is "currently" delegated to the BATFE,it doesn't have to remain delegated. There is nothing legislative about that delegation, which means it can be revoked by PURE FIAT.Anyone that does not know what fiat currency is,look it up.First sentence will be all you need to know. This battle is just heating up.
