So I have been away from here for awhile.  I was ashamed to show my face here. Forgive me for I have sinned.  I traded my one and only 10mm (Glock 29) for a XDm Compact 45 acp.  Before you string me up, I have seen the way of my sinful path.  I am finally back with a 10mm in the safe.  I aquired a Gen 3 Glock 20SF just yesterday afternoon.  I am happy to be back with a 10 again.  My ammo was sitting in the cabinet wondering why it was being neglected.  Well 50 of them dont have to feel that way anymore.

Always nice to have a 10mm in the mix.  For me the 10mm makes up the whole mix.  So how do you feel about going with the G20SF this go around compared to the G29 you used to have?
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Now if we could just talk you out of getting GLOCKS!   ;D
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Intercooler, It would be a great day if Springfield made a 10mm in the XD or XDM line.  I would get one today.

Redline, I like the 20 SF much better.  The 29 was an impulse trade while at the range with a buddy from another forum.  I originally wanted the 20 but thought why not carry a 10mm.  This 29 was way to fat to carry concealed (uncomfortable) and although we can carry open here in Minnesota, I choose not to.  Actually I got this 20 from the same guy.  I dont plan on carrying this except during the cold season when I will just wear it  OWB under a coat or sweatshirt.  This will be my backup while deer hunting which is why I wanted the 10mm in the first place.  In northern MN which is a rifle zone, we have some pretty thick brush areas and will take this along instead of a rifle.  In southern MN (shotgun zone) I will use a 44 Mag.  The grips of the 20 is really nice.  Fits my hand good.  I can hit more consistently with it than I could with the 29.  I think it was a good trade.  The price was right too.  I bought a Beretta 92 from a coworker that was 20 years ols, but if you looked at it, you would think it was new.  He has had 2 wives, the first was anti gun and he wasnt allowed to keep it in the house, the second wife although not anti gun, will not allow him to spend money on ammo.  So I bought it from him for $275 and traded it for the Glock 20.  SOrry gandog56, thats why its a Glock.  I would like to get one of the Rock Island 1911's.

Makes a lot of sense.  I expect the G20SF will serve you well and it is unlikely it will ever let you down.  It may not be in your personal interest, but the addition of a drop-in 6" barrel from Glock (or any number of aftermarket offerings) will bump most carry loads up ~75-100 FPS from the stock 4.6" barrel.  Do you plan to stay with the stock sights?

I do plan to leave it the sites stock for now.  Eventually maybe an upgrade.  A friend of mine had a GLock 35 and about 300 rounds into it the plastic gide rod broke, so I plan upgrading the guide rod soon.

Wow (about your friend's plastic guide rod that broke).  I wonder if that one was bad from the factory.  Obviously they usually last for many thousands of rounds.  I expect they are fairly inexpensive to replace.  Of course I can also understand going to a metal guide rod, as it simply wouldn't break ever.
