Been watching the Discovery TV show "North America" narrated by Tom Selleck.

Beautiful photography. Great reminder of where we live and what we have to appreciate. Certainly lost in the typical media presentation of dingy cities.

Some scenes have me feeling like I live on an alien planet. Such diversity of life.

Dang, I wasn't aware of it.  Have to check the guide and set the DVR to record it.  Is this just a small handfull of episodes, or will it be on for a while yet?  I'm not home right now to check into it or set it up.  Not at least till later tomorrow.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

This series has seven episodes. I believe three have aired.

So much to see in just the U.S. I've been in every state west of the Mississippi and have seen little of its beauty. One fall, I went of a 5000 mile drive just to sight-see. Still just cracked the surface.

Thinking it's time for a trip. I really need to take time to stop in southern Utah. I've driven through it many times on the way to somewhere else. Big mistake on my part.

Lessons from the animals:

1) When a different group shows up, there's going to be a fight.
2) When trouble comes, everyone else will run away leaving you to fend for yourself.
3) To get some lovin, you'd better know how to shake a tail feather.   :))

Wildlife definitely exists that have more sense than some folks I've come across over the years.

Outstanding video/photography/cinematography whatever it is. I've been watching every episode and will definately buy it on blu ray when available. Tom doing the narrating is just icing on the cake.
Married to my best friend who is a true life saving hero, and father to two amazing adult children.

The dancing birds in Costa Rica are a riot. Watching dolphins and whales act as a team to fish is probably just a hint of their intelligence. Mammals that process sonar data to navigate in their vast three dimensional world just might be highly intelligent.

Several dangerous situations for the photographers. Not sure if entering the water in the alligator infested swamp was a good idea. And why did they think they were safe inside the SUV when they were filming the hurricane hit Salter Path, NC.

They did have a Marlin lever action rifle when filming the bears in Alaska. Looks like a 45-70 Guide Gun. Photo attached.

Great reminder of where we are.

Don't know about the rest of you, but that blind-in-one-eye Bobcat had a pretty serious Zombie look going on!  I'm thinking the seagulls were twice as scared as they normally would have been had the Bobcat not had the Zombie look going on. ;D
