Saw this one today. I'm not much for two tone handguns usually but this thing looks pretty neat in my opinion. I would never do it to mine but its definitely interesting. Thoughts??

The price seems pretty good and because the slide is Stainless if you don't like the black you can always have it bead blasted.

Indeed, the price is pretty attractive. If I didn't already have a 1006 I'd be interested. I've thought about having mine bead blasted just to get out the slight imperfections in it's finish etc. I wonder what was used to do the black on this one . . .

Personally, I prefer the DuoTone look
Also, I feel a bright Top Rail is harder to sight across

I have never liked the dull look of the 1006. This is me when mine gets its first scratches that I don't want to look at. This is 1006 perfection in my eyes:

  Lot's of elbow grease involved!

I like that look much better than the stock finish or a black slide. My biggest issue with black pistols or two tone is that no matter what finish is on it it always wears and the only fix is to send it out to be refinished. With stainless you have a few options for fixing rub marks or scratches.
One of my favorite finishes is Hard Chrome, extremely durable and easy to clean.

Heres my custom Colt LW Commander done in Hard Chrome.

My thoughts on those S&W "dual tone finish" is what are they hiding?  I have seen and read about some that suffered some pitting and rough handling and they were cleaned up, filled in and dura coated or other finish... :-\

Personally I like the S&W10xx just like they came in that satin finish, although some have done nice polishing jobs on them. 8)

:o Bling bling! Someone put the work in on that 5906 that's for sure, mine's got some shine to it but nothing like that!

yankee2500, I don't have any experience with a hard chrome finish but I can see how it'd be pretty durable and easy to clean. Nice pistol you've got there, I like that its bobbed! What's the significance of the "E" that's cut into the trigger?

DenStinett, Looks like you've got a love affair with the DuoTone  :P nice looking guns!

I have to agree with Shadow though, the 10xx series in my opinion look best in the finish the S&W gods gave us  :D

The trigger is an EGW "E trigger" I'm going to change it because I don't like it as much in the gun as I did when it was out.  :(

I did the bob and the rest of the work was done by Rob @ ACW and Neal Keller.

My thoughts exactly. I would drive over and buy that from him (about 5 hours away) but I like the look of the original 1006.

Wow...."I'm not worthy!!....I'm not worthy!!"What a beauty. Love it! I introduced my 11 y/o to Sonny and Tubbs a few weeks back and had to give him the story on how ground breaking this series was. Not only in the Bren, but the use of modern music at the time to boost the drama. But I digress.....

The bob looks good nice job! The trigger looks like it would take getting used to, being nearly flat where your finger lays.
