Does anyone have any details about how this was done.  It appears they applied a reamer to a hi-point 40S&W.  Seems like a friend of mine has a such a Hi-Point.  I may have to convince him to let me convert it for him :-)

Yondering

I wouldn't want to fire many rounds through it, especially not a steady diet of full power 10mm, and if you can't shoot full power, what's the point?

My reponse to shooting one would be the same as when Barry wanted me to sniff some glue in 7th grade; not no, but HELL NO!

Maybe one day I'll ride up there and ask them. They're only around 60-70 miles north of me, in Jonesboro, GA. Looking at some of their vids they have a lot more powders and reloading supplies than anywhere around here. Only downside is it puts me into the metro Atlanta area traffic.  :-\

Zombie thread on the rise........I just bought a .40S&W HiPoint Carbine. Probably won't convert it to 10mm. These guys never tell us any details, even the fact that the stock mags won't accept 10mm.

Only problem is I picked up a Hi-Point .45 once. Worst POS I ever bought! Got rid of that pig PRONTO!
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

That's what I was thinking when I saw the subject line.

Did you buy it new?

What problems did you have?

Did you try more than one kind of ammo?

Did you use the warranty?

I all I can say is NO! How long 'til that f****** thing becomes a hand grenade!?
Now if Ruger, Smith, Glock, Beretta, Sig, HK wanted to make one I would buy it in heartbeat.

Actually it was a joke bid on Gunbroker for a used one. I put in a bid of $40 thinking I wouldn't win that. To my surprise, it DID win. Then there was the $20 fee for shipping and another $20 for a transfer from my local FFL. Got it in. The first surprise was the weight of the stupid thing. It looked half plastic, but seemed to weigh about twice as much as my 1911. The grip felt really strange to me. But I took it to the range to try it out. Filled the mag, and started blasting. First problem, the grip was so bad I had to hold it really high up. This cause the slide to bite into the web of skin between my index and thumb every time. I could not fire the pig without it slamming into that web. Second it failed to feed 3 times. As a matter of fact, it never did not have at least one failure to feed, and usually several. I tried many kinds of ammo, usually 230 grain ball. Sucker would NEVER go through a whole mag without a fail to feed somewhere. The only good thing about the gun was if it did feed, it went bang every time you pulled the trigger. I ended up giving it to my little brother. He uses it as a single shot shark dispatcher when he is out fishing in the Gulf Of Mexico. It works OK as long as he does not need a quick follow up shot.

I just hate to hear a company ran down over an experience that a person had with a used gun. They have the best warranty in the industry, and the gun was used/ you have no knowledge of what that gun may have been subjected to before you owned it.

I have a Hi-Point and it performs fine for what it is/ an entry level firearm for folks that dont have the means to buy a Glock etc. I have the Glock now/ the Hi-Point still has a home in my safe.

(The video i saw of both the 10Carbine and 10 JCP the guns percormed flawlessy,.. (Discussions about a Hi-Point in a caliber they are not manufactured in are really kinda like pee'ing in the wind. THERE IS NO SUCH ANIMAL, so why l the gun snobbery?)

Poor folks have every much the right to own firearms as everyone else, not trying to argue,.. Just a reminder that "A GUN" is infinitely better than no gun.

Any prior misuse would not cause the web bite that thing gave me or how heavy the darned thing was. Maybe the misloading problem was something the prior owner did, I just don't know. I just don't plan to ever repeat the experience ever again. I have bought many different used pistols from many various manufacturers, this was absolutely the worst one I ever got. Heck, I once bought a Raven .25 for $30  that gave me less problems.

A fine weapon the High Point is not.  I have a friend with one.  Heavy, uncomfortable to shoot.

But it was very inexpensive and it always goes bang.  If you have only a little budget and want a solid gun, the High Point is workable.
