Well I finally did it. I decided that where I hunt in the winter a steel gun would be a disadvantage. I go to Wyoming and Montana for Elk. They have been telling stories of wolves and bears getting more aggressive and used to people. Neither any good. I dont expect to use the gun for those, but I will have it in case. Just like Car Insurance. Better to have full coverage. Now to get a good supply of brass and projectiles............. Suggestions appreciated!

ivanimal, Welcome to the forum!  Congrats with that G-20!
StarLine Brass is very good stuff and used by many commercial loader for their offerings.
I like Hornady XTP bullets for out in the woods, the bullets are tough, real copper jacketed and have good performance records.  I load the 200gr XTP's to 1240 fps and are what I carry...
the Speer Gold Dots are probably better for self defense for close in work...

I with pacapcop on loaded ammo, hard to beat Underwood.

For new brass, order direct from starline.  For projectiles, I cast most of my own.

I reload, I looked over many recipes for 10MM and like the feedback on Bluedot. I have a boatload of powder,  1000 180 grain projectiles, also 500 165 grain. These are from a collection I bought a few years ago. Looks like I need some 200 gr. to make things right.

I will look at all the powder I have that suits the 10 MM and load a batch to see what works best in my gun.

Should I look into an aftermarket Barrel?

What should I look for as far as case stress with a 10 MM Glock as opposed to any other Glock?

I realize they are hard on brass. I will keep the brass separate in case my plans to get another brand of 10MM pistol. I understand they expand a bit more.

My glock 29 has fine head support.  It is the older pre-rail glock 29.  Case heads expand an extra .001-.002" versus my other guns, but a push thru size die remedies that.  The only gun I have that produces smiles of note is my Para, which had the barrel hogged out by a previous owner.  Gonna have to replace that barrel for that reason.

I've lived here in MT for 42 years now.  Work in the mountains from about April to October.  Generally run into half a dozen griz, few black bears and a real angry moose each year (I think that moose has it in for me ).

I've always carried a 44 or 45 colt loaded with heavy 300's.  Thought I was pretty comfortable until I tried out a Glock 20.

I'm a bit more comfortable now.

I have hunted near Dell and seen the remains of an elk that met some predators. I would be happier with the Glock on my side back then. I was carrying a 41 magnum at the time.
